Publisher's summary

It started out as an ordinary summer. But the minute thirteen-year-old Zinny covered the old, overgrown trail that ran through the woods behind her family's house, she realized that things were about to change.

Right from the start, Zinny knew that uncovering the trail would be more than just a summer project. It was her chance to finally make people notice her, and to have a place she could call her very own. But more than that, Zinny knew that the trail somehow held the key to all kinds of questions. And that -- the only way to understand her family, her Aunt Jessie's death, and herself, was to find out where it went.

From the author of the Newbery Medal-winning Walk Two Moons, here is an intricately woven tale of a young girl who sets out in search of her place in the world -- and discovers it in her own backyard.

Excellent Narration and an author you can relate too.

I loved hearing about Sal from Walk two moons and listening to Zinia’s story was so intriguing, just a real life feel of the thought and feelings excellently described, and performed by the narrator.

The narration is exquisite!

This has always been my favorite book. But for the first time I listened to it instead of reading it. The narrator knocked it out of the park! I absolutely love the way she told the story and the way she did different voices for different characters. Highly recommend!

the narrator is great! I enjoy books made for younger readers as a break from heavier books. I would recommend it to others!

Jake is a menace

A book about Jake's Marvelous Misadventures would go hard. I like to think that he is beyond this world and has no concept of right and wrong, he simply does. Jake is an anomaly in our universe, from a world we can't understand.

For real though it's kinda like a shorter Walk Two Moons. It's story isn't as in depth and there aren't as many moving parts but it's still a fun little story. I finished it in about 4 hours or so and I thought it was fun. This book would've been a great read when I was a kid.

Narrator perfects the story.

Sharon Creech is such a great writer and you probably have already read and loved this story as I had when I got the audible version. The voice of Zinnie is perfect! You won't be disappointed.

If you have never read this book, difinitely get this. It is such a sweet sweet story.

True love!

I love this book! The author paints such beautiful scenery and emotion throughout the pages, and this narrator brings it all happily into the world.

A coming of age story with so much to give each reader. Every life problem can be viewed from a different perspective and this book offers great connection between the problem and those who help solve it.

Worth a repeat listen!
