About this listen

Ryan is a petty criminal raised away from the pack territories by a father who purposely kept his omega son away from their pack. It's left Ryan's life fragmented and stiflingly restrictive. Where other omegas know what they are and what's expected of them, Ryan is unsure and over-compensating for an identity that's been imposed on him. City shifters are seen as the “compliant” goody-goody wolves who would just as soon throw their own kind under a bus to please humans and be given the right to assimilate to non-shifter culture. Humans are uneasy with their kind, but Ryan's dad is undeterred in his desire to place himself as far away from the wilds as possible. As a result, Ryan has no idea what to do when his mating cycle hits him and lands him in bed with a shifter general “on the job” in the city. Pascale is running surveillance over the clubs running arms that come with special, silver bullets. Shifter-loathing human "militias" have been growing too brazen, and its his job to put a stop to the supply chain. It's an easier job than it might be for a less intimidating wolf, but Pascale has a reputation. When the non-wolf shifters catch wind of his inquiries, the trail grows colder and colder until the supply of guns dries up. Making a quick buck at the expense of the wolf packs is a dangerous game that no one's keen to play too openly. When Pascale readies himself to head out of town, and the beautiful Ryan crosses his path, he can't help but stick around. He knows Ryan is his mate, and the lovers will soon discover his omega is pregnant with his child. Can Ryan free himself from an over-protective father's binds and yield to the passion of the powerful wolf he quickly learns is his mate? Is he ready for the change his accidental pregnancy will create for a pack that's uneasy about a city wolf's return? Romance Shifter Wolf Fantasy

The tease of a story that doesn’t really happen?

It just abruptly ends. Like bam done. So many things are just kinda left open ended, unaddressed, or instantly resolved for the sake of calling it the end. It felt so abrupt that I had to double check to make sure I didn’t accidentally start a new audiobook in the middle of the story…but turns out there’s just another story right at the “end” of this one.

The main characters whole obsession is with going out into the wilds and we never even get to see him experience it and get his reaction to it after the story building up how the grass isn’t greener on the other side potentially. Also the main characters big obstacle is fighting for his freedom and instead of seeing him accomplish his goal and grow as a character, we just hear him repeatedly bring up how he’s going to do it soon and then he just never does it and find another way around it in the end. Zero character development for every character in this story.

I agree with the other review, there are forgotten plot points, plot holes, things with potential that are introduced but that go no where. Also the logic of this ABO world is very confusing to the point that I don’t even know if I should call it ABO. Like instantly being pregnant the morning after sex, and everyone having heats from what I can tell, also it isn’t very clear what’s the difference between an alpha and an omega since everyone seems to share the same traits with the exception that the pack alpha controls the pack. This feels like a story that had very little feedback before publishing.

waste of time

this story was an absolute mess it's like it's dangling the possibility of it being good but is consistently inconsistent, confusing, and disappointing. it keeps introducing plot points that it seems to forget about and not know what it wants from it's character. I was going to give it 3 stars because it had so much potential but it being so disappointing just got Infuriating.
