About this listen
When life isn't fair, we want explanations. Jerry Jones reaches back into Genesis and draws helpful insights from the story of a woman who was cheated by life. Leah didn't live a "happily-ever-after" life. And for a long time she struggled with deep family disappointment. This book reveals how she got beyond being cheated and suggests that, like Leah, we can move beyond life's often-unfair twists.

That Ending
Many have grown up knowing the story of Jacob the son of Issac who married Rachel and Leah but few have seen it from this perspective. The ending of the book was my favorite because it brought up so many things that we don’t recognize about Leah‘s life or about Jacob in the Bible. It literally had me in tears. This book not only is a good read but it also is an impactful read. I’d even go as far as to say it is life changing, that is, if you let it.

A great telling of an excellent story.
I love how the author takes a Biblical story and brings it into view of the reader in a way that brings it to life. The great telling of the story of Leah and her struggle to be taken seriously. This was a great connecting of the true to life application and the biblical narrative to every believer. A must read!

Enlightening
For anyone that has read the story of Jacob, Leah, and Rachel - as I am sure most, everyone has a few times. One of my many favorite stories the way this is written, draws special attention to how Jacob wants to be buried with Leah at the end!
I was always drawn as I read the Scriptures the way that Leawood state “ maybe he will love me now…” after bearing children for Jacob. Realizing in this book of how we don’t seek after love and approval from society, from the creator of heaven and earth, GOD! Understanding how much HE truly loves us, and there is nothing that we can physically do to earn that love! HE LOVES US even when we feel cheated or that life’s not fair.
