About this listen

Berea Bachman helps her parents run an Amish Bed and Breakfast. Curious and a bit nosy, she loves hearing about the lives of the guests who come to stay with them. Shortly before Christmas an Englischer arrives, a man who is both intriguing and different—a man who captures her imagination.

Daniel Lapp has loved Berea for years, but she doesn’t consider him as anything more than the man who he is hired to do various jobs around the inn. He yearns for a wife and family, and he can’t imagine sharing his life with anyone other than Berea. But now, she seems quite interested in the Englischer who is staying at the inn through the holidays.

When secrets about the Bachmans’ Englisch guest are revealed, will Berea’s eyes and heart finally be opened to the man who has been there all the time? Will she accept the gift of Daniel’s love this Christmas?

The story was very sweet. The ending came quickly, and the lead up took more time than it likely needed, I would have liked to have more build up time near the end. I listened to this audiobook, I probably would have enjoyed it more had I read it. The narrator was almost robotic He had a total lack of emotion and his sentences were abrupt.
For a quick listen it was good, but if you want to be pulled into the story, and feel the emotions, I suggest you read it rather than listen to it.

Great, sweet but Short
