About this listen
It's Christmas time and there's a big problem in the forest! People from a nearby village want to chop down a special tree to use for their Christmas decorations.
But this is the most beautiful tree in the whole forest! Wendy the Warbler, Wally the Woodlark, William the Woodpecker, and Sebastian the Squirrel all live in this old pine tree. Many other animals in the forest love to sit on the soft needles under the magical pine tree.
All the animals have a plan to save the special tree and help the people from the village have a merry Christmas!
©2013 Edward Alan Kurtz (P)2016 Edward Alan KurtzThe best thing about being a new grandmother is finding new and fun stories to share with my little girls! It’s also the hardest part.
Mr Kurtz wrote a FABULOUS tale about several woodland critters - all lovable and adorable! The narrator was a joy to listen to, as well!
I’m looking forward to sharing this charming story about these animals who come together to save their home and can’t wait to see what they are up against in the other three seasons!
I do hope he takes these animals on more adventures with various diverse holidays (hint, hint, hint!)

This is a wonderful, heartwarming story, just right for Christmas. I loved the descriptions of the animal's homes, each decorated with their favorite colors. My favorite character has to be Stephen, the snake, and the narrator's hissing voice for Stephen was just perfect! And, the animals are oh so polite, always offering tea to their visitors. These animals drink more tea than you can imagine! At the end, the true meaning of the Christmas spirit is realized by everyone (except maybe the curmudgeonly old Army Captain).
This is a great book for families to listen to with their children, but it is also entertaining for those of us who are a lot older! The writing was perfect, the story was entertaining, and the narration was wonderful.
