About this listen
Private eye Sharon McCone receives an email asking for help from her emotionally disturbed half-brother, Darcy Blackhawk, but he fails to reply to her response. As Sharon digs deeper, she discovers that Darcy sent his message from an Internet café in San Francisco, a city he's never been to before. Sensing that Darcy is in terrible danger, McCone begins a search for him throughout the city. The investigation leads her to the body of a woman at the Palace of Fine Arts, where a witness told her Darcy was headed. As her search widens, Sharon uncovers a connection to an unsolved murder of a young woman who was heiress to a multi-million dollar banking fortune. Sharon must race to solve both murders and ensure her brother's safety, despite the imminent danger that lurks within her own family.

From the moment she stepped into the pagan darkness and discovered the corpse of Albert, one of her fellow students, she was afraid. Not even the comforting presence of the perceptive and practical Jacqueline Kirby could erase the fear that was nourished by one small accident after another, "accidents" that came dreadfully close to killing her.

Story
In 1982, Sue Grafton introduced us to Kinsey Millhone. Thirty years later, Kinsey is an established international icon and Sue, a number-one best-selling author. To mark this anniversary year, Sue has given us stories that reveal Kinsey’s origins and Sue’s past. Kinsey and Me has two parts: The nine Kinsey stories (1986-93), each a gem of detection; and the And Me stories, written in the decade after Grafton's mother died. Together, they show just how much of Kinsey is a distillation of her creator’s past.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Not this book, but I would recommend one of Muller's earlier stories. I enjoy hearing about the places in the SF Bay Area because I live here and Muller is very true to the place, she must live here. But this book is a disappointment. Many authors get better as they develop a character over many books. I think Marcia Muller is getting tired of Sharon McComb.
Would you ever listen to anything by Marcia Muller again?
I would think about it. This is her most recent book, and it is not really thought out in plot.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No
