About this listen
Empath Misty Burke only ever wanted one man: dragon shifter Rafe Landon. Their attraction was irresistible, but he was forbidden to love a member of another race and banished her from their island, breaking Misty's heart.
Misty believes she's gotten over him since that day - until she's called home for a mission to help Rafe's clan. The primal draw between them is as strong as ever, but despite their searing passion, Rafe still refuses to put Misty at risk by claiming her as his rider and mate. Even if it costs him his life.

Great short story.
It was a good story. I enjoyed the characters and the story line.
But there were a few things that didn’t work for me.
I didn’t understand the attitude by the queen at the end. Misty never turned Rafe away. But the queen acted as though Misty were selfish in not letting Rafe choose her as a rider. And shouldn’t the queen have been thankful to Misty after what she just accomplished?
For me personally, I prefer my Heroes to be Alpha and all “you’re mine, you will stay with me, I will find a way to keep you alive because I am just that awesome!” I’m not much into the martyr for a Hero. It wasn’t attractive. I hate that Misty was the one continually fighting for them.
But these were very minor parts of the overall story. The story was about them reuniting and falling in love all over again, or really just allowing themselves to feel that love again. Rafe was a really sweet guy, and it was easy to forgive him after you heard his side of the story. This all happened while they journeyed together to find the stolen Drakos stone. The stone that was the power and life source of all the Drakos. It was a big deal to get this back to the queen, which is why her attitude was so surprising at the end.

So-so Romance
Short. Not expensive. Plausible. Two clear, but not really explicit, sex scenes. Mild language. So-so altogether.
