About this listen

He's next in line to rule the Irish mob, and he’ll do anything to make me his.

I’ve been sheltered from the dangers of my family’s criminal activity for most of my life, but when one mistake puts me in debt to the Irish, I have no choice but to accept responsibility and agree to their demands.

As Declan MacKenzie’s fiancée.

Rumors paint the notorious womanizer as ruthless, wicked and devastatingly handsome. But I don’t know what to believe.

You see, I’ve actually run into the Irish mobster before. The Declan I met was intelligent, a fellow art lover, and undeniably gorgeous. The lust he sparked within me was unlike anything I’d ever experienced, and the night we spent together was the best of my life.

Until it wasn’t.

Now, I’m his reluctant fiancée, and I don’t know what to think. Was anything about our time together real? Or was Declan manipulating me from the moment we first locked eyes?

I suppose it doesn’t matter. I’m trapped in this arranged marriage whether I like it or not.

Or am I?

Claimed by the Irish is an arranged marriage mafia romance with mature themes, mild profanity, and slow-burn-steam. It's book one in The Claimed and Beloved Duet and ends on a cliffhanger.

Great story, if told in sequence

The ending, or the lack of! A stand alone with a cliffhanger doesn’t seem like a stand alone!

Great story, checks all our Romance boxes

FYI book 2 “Beloved by the Irish” is not listed on Audible and is not available here. Go to Kindle to read it.
Story is great, it was engaging and book 1 ends with some major conflict that we’ll find resolution for in book 2.

Good story

Liked the story just hard to finish it with the automated voice. Change voice would make it better

good of you wanna sleep

Very, very slow burn. honestly it dragged on too long but it helped as a sleep seductive of sorts. so... I guess unto the next one (for my napping).

I think the AI voice was way too monotone. Humans are still the best for narration.

Regarding the actual characters... umm... yeah. I know this is fictional. But... I just had a hard time connecting to them. I really couldn't empathize with anyone. The mafia boss was too "clean" overall. so, when there was eventful violence it felt fake for him. The FML needs just to be knocked out. she is really really not connecting with me. She was the most ALMOST like a 'Karen" like energy.

plus... it kinda bothers me but not a deal breaker but why is she a red head?! I mean, less than half a percent of the Italian population is naturally red head. but, the darker one (auburn hair?) is the Irish one? 🤨

I know every ethnicity comes in virtually all colors etc. I just think I like celebrating the natural tendency of all regions unless it plays a significant role in the book. This issue isn't a deal killer for me, but when the book drags- I kinda knit pick.
