What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A different narrator would have made the difference for me.What was one of the most memorable moments of Classic Tales of Hope and Courage?
Behrman's masterpiece was very unexpected. How could the performance have been better?
Well, I feel the acting of the voices was very much over acted. He was loudly over emphasizing words then, for overly dramatic effects he would whisper. Several times, I had to turn up the volume really high because his voice was so soft and then unexpectedly, he would almost shout. I still don't know what happens at the very end of Jack London's "To Build a Fire".It was like taking Tony Robbins word emphasis, giving it to William Shatner then telling him to read it to children around the fireplace. Very awkward.
What character would you cut from Classic Tales of Hope and Courage?
I wouldn't cut any character from this book.Great stories can be ruined by a bad reading
