About this listen

I knew the risks of this job when I signed on with Jameson Force Security. Knew my time as a marine would prepare me for the danger I would face. But no amount of training could have ever prepared me for the helplessness of watching my teammates die, the agonizing mental and physical pain of torture, or the despair of captivity.

Returning home to Pittsburgh following a mission gone wrong, I am riddled with guilt and haunted by nightmares. I spend my days trying to regain the parts of myself I lost in that desert, the pieces that made me the Malik Fournier I once was. While the physical effects of my torture are fading, the emotional ones are proving much more stubborn and I find solace from the last person I should ever seek such comfort.

Anna Tate lost even more than I did in that mission. Now a widow and a single mom to the daughter she gave birth to shortly after her husband’s death, Anna offers me comfort I don’t deserve. As my feelings for Anna grow, I worry that once she learns the truth about what happened, she’ll turn her back on me.

I pull her to me just as tightly as I push her away. Hoping this forbidden love will save me from the ghost I’ve become.

Code Name: Ghost

This book was so good from beginning to end it was hard to put down. Malik was new to the company and on his first mission with Jameson Force Security when they were on a mission to rescue hostages and working with British and Australian military forces when they started taking fire. During this fire fight two of his team members are killed and he is taken hostage. After five months he is rescued but survivors guilt is an traumatic thing. Coming home he is convinced he is to blame for the deaths of his teammates. Anna lost her husband Jimmy on that mission. She is now a single mom after giving birth to Avery and working as Kynan's secretary. She is extremely happy to have Malik back and holds no grudge against him. She has been read in on the mission and knows he did nothing wrong. This was a slow burn and starts out as a friendship but there was an undeniable chemistry. I have basically given you the premise of this book and that is all I'm going to give. READ THE DAMN BOOK! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!! Emotional and low to no angst. Oh, and LOVE this cover!!! I both read and listen to the audio version of this book and both were great! Great narrators!

Great series that keeps getting better

I absolutely love the Jameson Force Security series by Sawyer Bennett. It's one of my favorite military series, and i've been impressed with the depth of the writing and development the series has taken.
In another melding of characters from Sawyer's different series, Malik Fournier from the Fournier family depicted in her Hockey series. We also have a few cameo's of Malik's siblings in this book.

This book shows depth of story and character development as Malik and Anna's story develops, as Anna and Malik face the tragedies that have they have experienced that are linked. This story is an emotional journey as this couple faces guilt, grief, and trauma together.

Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose do an outstanding job narrating this story, and their acting is really excellent.

Emotional Suspense Romance

Code Name; Ghost is book 5 in the Jameson Force Security Series and it’s Malik Fournier and Anna Tate’s story, it’s the book I have been waiting for and it did not disappoint, it ticked all my boxes and I was captivated from the first page to the last line. For me this series has got better with each read.
Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose did a wonderful job with their narration. Bringing a book with so many emotions is hard to bring to life but that’s exactly what they did.
Malik is finally home after being rescued from a mission that went horribly wrong, he lost friends and colleagues and now finds himself living with survivors guilt, one of those lost was his friend and Anna’s husband so how does he now face the woman on a daily basis in the office they both work in. Anna was pregnant and alone when she lost her husband and the men of Jameson Security invited her in and made her an important part of the running of the firm but will Malik ever get past the guilt especially when he realises he has feelings for this woman..... This was certainly an emotional ride but it was a journey I was so glad to be part off, two people picking up the pieces and trying to move on whilst trying to deal with guilt. Ms Bennett knows how to draw us in with characters we fall for big time and she also describes emotions so well, I cried and I sighed as this couple who shared an emotional bond tried to make a new life. Will the bond they share heal or destroy them both..... This is a series I highly recommend it has the perfect mix of love, emotional and suspense.

I fell So hard for Malik!

First I want to start by saying this book can completely be read as a stand alone - but as a HUGE fan of Sawyer Bennett, Ghost is a book I've been dying to get my hands on. Sawyer magically manages to wrap all of her worlds into this amazing book. Some may be worried how can she pull that off?

Well let me tell you she does this with utter perfection. In just about every series she writes, Malik has wormed his story into the fold. She would leave snippets, breadcrumbs and all sorts of teasers that made me wanting to practically beg her for Malik's story. Sawyer intricately wove his story into all of those story lines and there is no way I couldn't help but fall in love with him.

His story is unique. I laughed and I cried both happy and sad tears for Malik as he worked through his struggles of accepting his fate. Anna was the perfect person for him and I truly never wanted this story to end.

True to Sawyer's form, she left one heck of a train of breadcrumbs for her next book and I want it so bad. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us.

PS - Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose brought Sawyer's beautiful story for life. I can't wait to listen to more from them in the future as well.

Action, suspense and heartache.

Action, suspense and heartache. Bennett chose the perfect name for a character who plays hide and seek with every emotion the heart has to offer. Shedlock and Rose bring out the best of each other. Their haunting delivery of Malik and Anna will have you reaching for the tissues even as the sparks fly and the heart breaks.

Perfection!

I knew from previous books that this story would be an emotional journey and I loved the road Sawyer took us on. It was heartfelt and emotional that brought out all the fells.

From the very first page I was captivated in this story. I felt Malik’s torment and my heart broke for this tortured man. I felt all his emotions to my soul but I knew in my heart that he would find his way back. Anna was just as tormented but in other ways. She was still recovering from losing her husband and raising a baby on her own. Together Malik and Anna had a connection that ran more than just physical. They had a special bond from those events in Syria and helped the other heal and find happiness again.

Even with all the seriousness and sorrow Sawyer added intense love scenes and laugh out loud humor. I think I died laughing every time Cage interacted with Anna. His story was set up perfectly as he was blended into Anna’s life as her good friend.

Oh and Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose were perfection together. They mad the story that much better as they brought Malik and Anna alive. They gave joy to my ears.

This story was a highly anticipated story for me and Sawyer did not disappoint.
