About this listen

Robyn Russo owns Big Eazy Beignets, one of the oldest and most popular beignet diners in the city of New Orleans. Robyn has spent over forty years feeding New Orleanians - the good and corrupt. As a result, she has learned how to love and fight. And when the city threatens to wipe out the stretch of Tchoupitoulas Street that has served as home for her business and other small businesses so that high-rise condominiums can be erected, Robyn dips into her bag of tricks to stave off the prominent city vultures who are spearheading the effort. Her efforts seem to have worked, until she drops dead in her own establishment in front of a crowd of customers. The case falls into the lap of young hotshot Homicide Detective, Lizzy Silverman. As usual, she has to turn to her secret mentor, Sleepy Carter, for assistance in solving the case. But Lizzy doesn't have to poke and prod Sleepy for guidance on this case because Robyn Russo was an old friend of his. That's great news for Lizzy and the worst news for whoever killed her.
