The first begins in late October 1967, and is told by a Marine rifleman who fought in battles at Mike’s Hill, Foxtrot Ridge, and numerous others.

The final story in this volume is told by an Army cavalry officer who led a platoon of armored personnel carriers with such ability and daring that he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, three Silver Stars, four Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts.

The other stories in Volume 3 include those told by a US Army artillery officer, a Marine helicopter pilot, a naval officer on offshore fire support duty, and two men that served in the US Navy’s Mobile Riverine Force. I like the stories, but a lot of complaints no pure patriots everyone has some gripe about a medal they never received. If that’s the authors mission, to recognize people who were ripped off by the system, then change the title! Also my gosh the narrator cannot say “officer” correctly. Count how many times he says offser or ossfer in the book/sample. Driving me nuts.

Offser osffer
