Publisher's summary

Three government agencies. Secrets of a missing husband. And one woman to find their connection.

When Miakoda Nez's husband goes missing after a terrorist attack at the US Embassy in Brazil, she heeds his cryptic instructions to pack up and run. Throwing clothes and a gun in her suitcase, she heads out on a familiar route they'd taken many times. But everywhere she looks, someone is watching.

Disguised as a homeless veteran, FBI agent Greyson waits at a rest stop for his contact, but when a gang of thugs threaten Miakoda, he jumps to her rescue. Once on the road together, Greyson gets contacted by his boss and given a new assignment: keep his eye on Miakoda and report her location daily.

As Miakoda follows clues her husband left to a secret project, she becomes embroiled in deep international intrigue involving the CIA, FBI, and the American President. Miakoda hires Greyson to be her bodyguard, but his duty to his family and government conflict with his growing love of the Navajo beauty as he plays double agent.

Will she be able to evade the government's long reach as she follows her husband's evidence trail?

Mia & Greyson

Native American beauty Miakoda Nez's story grabbed my interest from the start and did not let go until I was finished. The suspense, mystery, drama, betrayal, villains and romance. Cash Andrews Greyson(Greyson) and his teenage daughter Joni come into her life. I enjoyed listening to Erika Calvert narrate this story.

Complicated Strangers!

This is my first introduction to this writer. I enjoyed this slow build romantic suspense story about Miakoda Nez, a Native American from the Navajo culture, and Cash Greyson, a Federal agent with a teenage daughter. Mia and is married to Daniel, who works for the JAG and is currently working at the Embassy in Brazil. The embassy is attacked and he disappears. Mia, after a warning from her husband, heads away from home. She meets Greyson, an Army veteran and Federal agent. These two, along with his daughter, are thrown into a mix of suspense, secrets, government agencies, action and thrilling moments. I enjoyed this story from beginning to end.

Great novel, sober narration!

wow, an incredible and well-articulated story that captivates you from the beginning.

A kidnapped husband, a desperate wife, an agent you don't know whether to trust or not, and many secrets and mystery.

To all this, I must add the perfectly articulated narration that makes the listening experience more alive and relevant.

GRABS YOU AND DOES NOT LET GO! Loved it!

Solid characters and plot. Lots of interesting twists that just keep coming and guessing. The narrator’s ability to tell the story was very impressive. There were so many nuances in each character that few narrators can pull off but this one did. The story itself was solid, lots of intrigue, some shady politics, fight or flight situations, a bit of humor and of course the emotional tension and tenderness that make for a well deserved KUDOS to the author!
I recommend this to anyone who is looking for an intelligent and insightful read.

Entertaining and Suspenseful!

This was my first Ellis Summers's book. This book is part of The Family Secrets Series. Greyson and Mia's slow burn romance is entertaining and suspenseful, filled with secrets, mystery, angst, danger, family drama, betrayal, and twists and turns. The world building is captivating. Erika Calvert did a great job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
