About this listen

Darby Buckingham becomes the unwilling owner of a herd of 12 dirty and disagreeable camels. Deciding to go into the freight business, Darby is faced with unfriendly Paiutes, scorching desert and steep, impassable trails. Add to that the horrors contrived by the murderous band of a competitor, an ugly giant known as Big Bert Jasper, and you have all the makings of an exciting story. The Derby Man will be hard pressed to come out ahead on this caper.©2008 Books In Motion (P)2008 Books In Motion Fiction Westerns

Hollow recording quality.

A word of caution. Listen carefully to the sample and decide if you can tolerate the hollow sounding recording. Eventually, I sort of got used to it, but I don't think there's a good excuse for poor studio work in an audiobook.

Otherwise, it was a fun story with a well matched and professional narrator in my opinion.
