Awesome book for teens!
This is such an excellent book for teens to listen to. I wish I had listened to a book like this when I was a teen. It teaches emotional intelligence, which I think is so important and would help many people who struggle with anxiety and depression. I enjoyed that the book focuses on getting to the root of anxiety and skills on how to overcome it. I learned a lot of skills that I want to apply as well.
This is definitely a book you can listen to over and over again and learn from it every time.

Love this book to help my teen
Raising a teenager is not the easiest of tasks these days. There is so much that is different from when I was a teenager so learning to understand how my daughter developed so much anxiety and depression has been a bit of a learning curve for me. My daughter had started showing signs of anxiety a few months ago. I would get text messages to come get her from school. She would start crying and then couldn't stop. She would freak out about projects and her grades or people talking about her etc. She was all over the board. So in listening to this book, I feel like I am starting to understand a bit more of how shy she is feeling this way. In Chapter 4, the author offers insights to learn how to handle emotional triggers which is where my attention stayed. Hearing the author explain in a tone and words that would reach a teen was great because I have now shared this book with my teen.
Then chapter 7 which focuses on developing resilience, I developed hope of helping her learn how to face her challenges with confidence. Even if it didn't work out the first time, she would learn through this book how to get back up and try again.
It's hard to find a book that a teen may listen to but I was happy to have my daughter listen to this book because now that we both have listened to the book we are starting to implement some of the strategies with me there to support her. I feel like it's helped us as a parent-child relationship become closer and she has started opening up more and is trusting me more as well.
Great book for anyone who has a teen who struggles. As a parent, listen to the book as well so that you can help your kiddo implement the strategies so your teen has a higher chance for success.

My daughter is 14 and has ADHD. Her anxiety can often overwhelm her. Listening to this book has taught her to recognize emotional triggers. Wonderful information
Coping Skills are necessary, but what does that mean?
Understanding why we think the way we do, How our brains work, Recognizing emotions and labeling them instead of sweeping them under the rug, Knowing who to talk to without feeling uncomfortable, What types of therapies are out there, How to not judge or react immediately and more techniques, Combatting Anxiety.
The guided meditations are calming and helpful. There are many Mindfulness exercises help calm and slow us down.
