About this listen

Featuring a foreword by Dr. Deniz Ahmadinia, Psy.D.—licensed clinical psychologist and trauma recovery specialist—this isn’t just a book about heartbreak. It’s about waking up to the slow erosion of your confidence—realizing you were (or still are) in a relationship that’s quietly breaking you down.

Covert Damage is for men trying to make sense of emotional and psychological abuse—the kind that doesn’t leave bruises but makes you doubt your memory, your worth, and your sanity. You’ll finally have words for what happened: love bombing, gaslighting, DARVO, reactive abuse, brain fog, memory loss, chronic self-doubt, triangulation, projection, and performative victimhood.

If you’ve been made to feel like everything was your fault—while she took none of the blame—you’re not crazy. You’re not alone. Whether you’re still in it, just got out, or keep attracting chaos disguised as love, this audiobook gives you the language and tools to finally break the cycle. You’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of covert emotional abuse, grounded strategies for nervous system recovery, and practical tools to rebuild confidence from the inside out.

This isn’t clinical or detached. It’s honest, raw, and written by someone who lived it. It’s not about playing victim—it’s about reclaiming your power. If you're ready to stop questioning yourself and start healing for real, Covert Damage will help you do it.

Includes a 100-page-plus companion PDF with all the chapter exercises and mantras to support your healing.

I didn’t know how deeply I needed this book until I hit “play.” Covert Damage does an incredible job of pulling back the curtain on the manipulation, gaslighting, and emotional harm caused by covert narcissist women — something rarely talked about but very real.

The author breaks down the traits and tactics in a way that’s clear and relatable, without ever sounding clinical or preachy. If you've ever been made to feel crazy, guilty, or "too sensitive" by someone who seemed sweet or victimized on the surface — this book will hit home.

I especially appreciated the examples and the focus on the confusing dynamics of these relationships. The narration was calm and engaging, making the material easier to absorb even when it hit close to home.

Highly recommend for anyone trying to make sense of a toxic relationship or looking for healing and validation. It’s not just educational, it’s empowering.

This book hit me harder than I expected. It's one of the few resources I've found that truly speaks to men dealing with emotional abuse without turning it into a blame game or shallow self-help fluff. The narration is excellent—you can tell the narrator feels what he’s saying, like he’s lived it. That makes the experience feel personal and grounded, not just clinical or performative.

The included PDF of exercises (over 100 pages!) is a serious bonus—way more substantial than I expected. It turns the book into something I’ll be returning to, not just listening once and forgetting.

I’ve already bookmarked several parts to revisit and will absolutely be re-listening. If you're trying to make sense of something painful and hard to name, this book gives language, clarity, and hope. Highly recommended.
