About this listen

One of the foremost theoretical physicists in the world, the late David Bohm, tells why science has become specialized and fragmented at the cost of its soul. He describes his theory of the "implicate order" and goes on to explore its implications for human consciousness.

Thought is based in memory, and true creativity depends on getting beyond a thought process dependent on memory, according to Bohm. In this remarkable dialogue he delves into the innermost reaches of what it means to be human and alive.

I found there were some statements with the profound ring of truth. Maybe 4 or 5. Much of the time was spent killing the air with silence.
If you believe there is a diety or force permeating all life/ governing it, you can find some meaty explanations here. If vagaries bother you even when there's substance to them -walk on [select another bargain in another vein].

This is a "must listen" for those fascinated by David Bohm's work in applying the findings of Quatum Theory to the bigger picture. To hear his voice as he articulates his ideas in an enquiring, non emphatic manner is wonderful.

This recording is a superb expeience. You will hear him talking about physics, philosophy, art. It's so vlever that it's still up to date now at 2015 evenn when he talks about things of this Century, like supersimetry.

I agree with science getting very fragmented due to subspecialties, but to connect everything to a source is deviation from science to faith.

An interesting look at science from a moral perspective. Not judging the output but looking at how science may be limiting its ability to discover new things through exclusion of belief. This is part of a radio series out of San Francisco.
