Publisher's summary

Combat-decorated Marine officer Stuart Scheller speaks out against the debacle of the Afghan pullout as the culmination of a decades-long and still-ongoing betrayal of military members by top leadership, from generals to the commander in chief, comes to light.

Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Scheller was the perfect Marine. Battle tested. A leader. Decorated for valor. Yet when the United States acted like the Keystone Cops in a panicked haphazard exit from Afghanistan for political reasons, Scheller spoke out, and the generals lashed out. In fact, they jailed him to keep him quiet, claiming he lost the "trust and confidence" bestowed upon him by the Marines—when the faith and trust is exactly what our generals and even our commander-in-chief betrayed by exercising such reckless and derelict policies. Now Scheller is free from the shackles of the Marine Corps and can speak his mind. And in Crisis of Command, that he does. He holds our generals' feet to the fire. The same generals who play frivolously with the lives of our service men and women for political gain. The same generals who lied to political leaders to further their own agendas and careers. Stuart Scheller is here to say that the buck stops here. Accountability starts now. It's time to demand accountability and stand up for our military. In this book, Stuart Scheller shows us how.

Absolutely agree with most of this book

Although I don’t completely agree with every point, what was said HAD TO BE SAID. This is a wake up call that upper echelon of the military have become politicians and have completely lost sight of the reasons they are in the positions they’re in. There comes a point in the military when Officers and Senior NCO’s have to realize they actually work for their JR members. It’s their obligation to make sure their people are taken care of FIRST! Unfortunately most of these senior leaders are more worried about self preservation and securing their own careers. The military loves to make Americans think it’s a very well oiled machine but those of us who served know too well the constant BS that goes on. WE need to make it clear the military is not here to make Generals and Admirals rich, it’s not here for political social experiments, it exits to crush any entity that threatens our people and democracy. I salute Mr. Scheller for taking a stand!!

Accountability is needed now!

Excellent book. Stu is a courageous and true American. Im not sure I could have made the same sacrifices that he made. His service to our country, like so many others, goes unappreciated by 99% of the people in America.

Evolution

LTC Scheller had my support when I first saw him & still does. I believe if people would've stopped to actually listen & hear him & his message things would have ended differently. Unfortunately, a lot of bruised ego's got in the way of active listening. 😕
One of my favorite quotes is, "Post Traumatic Growth". It says it all! Fantastic book! That is if your willing to listen to the truth & sit in the discomfort of knowing we have to do better. Wish you all the best Stu!

Jr. service member opinion

He needs to know that what he is picking apart in the ranks of the general officer corps is a “general feeling” we all have throughout the enlisted ranks and as civilians, but can’t pin point it in any direction, nor have the impact of a charismatic leader with a massive Following as he.

It’s the feeling that the senior officers and political figures reaching a point in their careers that they feel they have “put in their time” and no longer need to be held to the same standards. They are serving themselves, and their peers instead of the people they should be leading and protecting, under the pretenses of “selfless service” to the nation.

Best book I’ve ever read!

Civilians don’t often get to go behind the scenes and have a glimpse at what it takes to command our military. I’m so great Fil that this book has brought to light the shortfalls of our senior leaders. Even more, I’m great Fil that Patriots like Stu Scheller exists to lead the US out of the mess we’re in.

It took him 17 years to see the corruption.

Honest account from a fellow veteran that saw the corruption from the inside and was punished for trying to address it.

Every Patriot should hear this story!

Hopefully, this is the beginning of a total revamping of the American military industrial complex. This story exemplifies all that is wrong with American culture and hopefully enough people will be willing to sacrifice even a portion of what Lt. Col Sheller has to make this change occur.
