A laugh out loud Cruise Ship Cozy Mystery by New York Times, USA TODAY, & Wall Street Journal bestseller Addison Moore.

Cosmopolitan Magazine calls Addison's books, "...easy, frothy fun!"

An impending divorce. An ornery homicide detective. The cruise of a lifetime. And ghosts.

Midlife on the high seas is proving to be a real killer.

If I thought the first half of my life was a bumpy ride, I’d better buckle up because I’m about to go over the hill and off the rails.

My name is Trixie Troublefield, and I see ghosts. It’s sort of a new thing, and it’s more than a problem.

While I was busy running around doing some last minute packing for my tropical anniversary cruise, my husband was busy bedding three other women—at the same time. So I did what any other sane person would do—I grabbed my suitcase and took to the high seas, alone.

Here’s the thing. I’ve never been on a plane or a cruise ship. I’ve never left the state of Maine. I’ve never been on my own. I’ve never seen ghosts before either, but that seems to be on the universe’s agenda for me, too.

I’ve got eighteen days to recalibrate, rethink my life, recharge, and eat all the food I can get my hands on. And I might look into a poltergeist pest control service while I’m at it.

Of course I’ll start a travel blog and log all of my adventures for the world to see. Why not rub all the fun I’m having in my cheating ex-husband’s face? I’ll call it Suddenly Single! What a Trip.

But no sooner do I step on board of that stately cruise ship than I stumble upon a body.

Midlife on the high seas is proving to be a real killer.

The narration was deadly dull, and the story only so-so. I couldn’t finish make myself finish it.

Horrible narrator!

Story was fun, but hate artificial intelligence voices, no warmth. Like reading a text book

Overall, this was a fun book. Not exactly a homerun but still entertaining. I liked the main protagonist Trixie. I thought it was a hoot that she decided to go on her anniversary cruise alone after catching her husband cheating. The mystery was just alright. What didn't work for me was some of the writing. The author's turn of phrase sometimes felt overdone and that grated on me. I will probably continue as I also have the next two books in the series. (Also, the narration wasn't the best as some of the jokes fell flat because of tone or because the virtual voice didn't pronounce the word right.)

Fun Read

I thought this was going to be just kind of a casual book but as it went along you've got mystery you've got a little bit of a thriller, paranormal, and romance.
and let's not forget they've got a lot of cakes on this trip!

strong women

The story was boring. It's straight up the worst audio book voicing I've ever heard. No inflection, no voices, nothing. That's all I can say about this book. It's a whole lot of nothing. I won't be finishing it.

The Worst

This was about the worst book I've ever had to listen to. I couldn't listen to another word after Chapter 5, which is as far as I got. If you have to use A.I. to narrate, trust that it is going to be a problem. It sounds robotic and often mispronounces the easiest of words...because it doesn't know any better.

I would definitely advise other authors to stay away from going this direction. It just killed the enjoyment of listening to the book.

A.I. used for narrating - Not a good idea!
