About this listen
After a narrow escape from disaster’s cold grip, the battered crew of Sneaky Lass have paid a hefty price, one that weighs on them fiercely. None more than Bennett Holt.
Torn between two loves; his ship, Sneaky Lass, and the enigmatic Jane Ables, Bennett is forced to face who he is as a man when he is not wearing the mask of a captain. A man so mired by the past that he has only ever looked back through the bottom of a bottle of liquor.
Trust does not come easily for the guarded Jane Ables, a lifetime of abuse has locked her emotions down tightly. Bennett is the one person who has the power to coax them free of her, if only she didn’t see ghosts from her past writhing within him.
Playing the part of captain and sailor by day, in the shadows of night they can lay their secrets bare as they attempt to unravel the emotions that swim in the tumultuous waters between them.
But a pirate’s bounty is not built on tales of love and loss, and life aboard Sneaky Lass does not pause for Bennett and Jane to figure things out.
The fury of Captain Gates builds under the humiliation of the recent escape of Bennett Holt and Jane Ables. He redoubles the efforts of his naval ship, Three Queens, to hunting them and ending his vendetta once and for all.
Sneaky Lass, and its captain, cannot run forever.

Story
Lana Fleming’s sister has vanished from the set of TV’s hottest show, and no one seems to care. Desperate for answers, Lana sneaks in as an extra, only to get stranded with Griffin Hart, an A-list action star with a reputation for good abs and bad decisions. Though Griffin didn’t expect to be cast as a librarian’s sidekick in a real-life thriller, he’s weirdly into it—and into her. Even more unsettling—she sees right through his playboy persona. But their meet-cute soon turns deadly when they uncover a Hollywood scandal for the ages.

Liv’s happy with life in her thirties. She has two cats, one BFF, and no boyfriend, which is just how she likes it. Plus, she loves working at a not-for-profit software company where she can be her authentically autistic self. This is her happy ever after. But when her beloved firm merges with a repulsive rival, Liv finds herself competing with her sort-of-ex for the top job. Sure, Finn had been Liv’s best friend, with his nerdy good looks and their shared love of Tolkien, but there was that one night, their song, and … well, she doesn’t like to talk about it.

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Pirates, Ghosts Stories, and Heartbreak
I love that this series is read by the author because every bit of nuance is captured through the narration. My heard swelled and broke. And the last chapter nearly took me out. It’s so good!!

My heart keeps breaking in the very best ways
Kennedy Sutton's storytelling is a breath of fresh air. Her characters are complex and imperfect, making them all the more relatable. Sutton will break your heart again and again with this series, and you'll keep coming back for more.
This installment was a lot spicier than the first two novels, and I'm not complaining one bit (wink wink). I can't wait to see where these characters will wind up next.

the love story
You will need your tissues as usual. For Kennedy, Sutton's performance
This tragic love story Is continued on and cries to a cruel God.
I had to bite my knuckle to keep back tears. Yet the love story stood out the most, all the love stories
The cries to a cruel God does not hold back on tragedies or emotional reeling.
Kennedy does a fantastic job of evoking emotion and character building only to rip those characters away from you the third in this series is not one to miss
