About this listen

A stubborn man. A clever woman. And a forbidden love that could destroy their world.

As the daughter of one of the two most powerful families in Paradise Falls, Elora has the unique ability to slip into another world and bring resources back to her people. Unfortunately for her, the only other person with this ability is her enemy, the alluring Callum himself.

So when their fathers go missing in that other world, they have a choice: search alone or together.

Obviously, they chose to work alone, but fate has other plans for them. Thrown together against their wills, injured and lost, they will have to learn to trust each other... or die from their pride.

What's more, their search for their fathers unearths dark secrets and even darker lies. If the two survive, they'll never be the same again. And if the wrong people discover what they know, they might just disappear right along with their fathers.

Cursed Ever After is a MF fantasy romance with a tough heroine, an alpha hero, and strong enemies-to-lovers vibes.

I am in love with this audiobook!

Holy moly! This audiobook is SOOOO intense, and I loved every minute of listening to it. This story was just so fascinating and wholly fresh.

In this book, Elora and Callum are the 2 children from the only 2 families that are Gold Keepers – those who are able to go over into Neverwood, a world that is supremely dangerous, for resources (goldarium) that their world uses for pretty much everything. Their fathers went to Nevermore months ago and are now presumed dead, meaning that its time for Elora and Callum to step into their roles. They have been taught from a young age that the Walker family and the Runefall family hate each other, so they each plan to go there separately and bring back the MOST Goldarium. Except shortly after arriving, Elora and Callum find that their families had started to work together at some point and nearly die running for their lives. Callum gets seriously injured saving Elora, and Elora, now, has to try to save the boy who she is supposed to hate.

But their time together shows that they really don’t hate each other, and their home (Paradise Falls) isn’t what they always believed it was. There are much bigger plans for them that they don’t know about and a much bigger enemy than anything in Neverwood.

This is a romantasy that will blow your socks off! It's just that good – and the narrator blew my socks off. I absolutely loved it

Great story

I've read several books by this author, though this was my first audio book ever.
It was a great story with plenty of action, tension between the protagonists and even some spicy action! This book was well written (and performed), had a intriguing plot and amazing world building! Looking forward to more in this series.

intriguing

a little slow to start off with but it leads up to intriguing twists that off with a cliff hanger. Can't wait for the next book.

slow burn

I will say I almost DNF'd the book because of how slow I felt the initial story line was going. I am glad I kept reading but still feel the world and character building is slow. I love the fantasy touch to it with magic worlds and secrets. To not give anything away if slow burns are you thing with forced proximity then this could be a book for you.

I will be reading book two as the narration for this one was slow for me and I wish it had a male and female narrator. It's hard for me to listen to a woman giving a males perspective.

Overall I give the book a 3.5 out of 5 and I am hoping for some answers and for the main characters to pull their heads out of their butts in book 2.
