About this listen

Jason Klein's living with the fallout from a decision he knew was the right one at the time. He never told anyone about the love of his life, which left him to mourn alone when he found out the man he gave his heart to had been killed in combat. Now, his heart has had time to heal, but he's not sure he's ready to let himself move on. Until he meets Cam Morgan....

Without a job lined up following graduation, Cam Morgan took his best friend up on his offer to move to Milwaukee and stay with him until he could get on his feet. The last thing he wanted to do the day after getting to town was go to a party filled with a bunch of jocks. Sure, they were "professional athletes", but Cam was convinced that bigger bank accounts didn't make them any more accepting of people like him. He certainly didn't expect to meet Jason, the Mavericks' catcher who broke every stereotype he'd had.

What started out as one hot, sweaty night together quickly grows into something deeper. Jason welcomes Cam into his home and his life, but now he has to teach the younger man that it's not a sign of weakness to let people help you.

Great book

I loved this audiobook. Really enjoyed the narration of this book. I had read this story a few years ago. Was so happy to be able to listen to the story now.

Good story and characters. Bad pronunciation of words.

Epitome, pronounced as Epp-i-tome instead of e-pit-o-me. And chasm pronounced as chaz-ma instead of kazem. A professional actor/narrator should now how to pronounce works properly.

Totally enjoyable

I really enjoy this series, have read them and am now enjoying the audio, which is like reading a new story. I liked the narrator except for Cam. It was strange to have this slight guy have a really deep voice, didn't feel like it fit.

A good baseball romance

Cam has come to stay with his best friend Drew until he gets on his feet and finds a job since he just got out of Culinary school. Drew is happy to have Cam with him for more reasons than just company. But that's Drew's secret.
Jason is gay but not out and really never thought he would be attracted and want another man. He has a secret as well. But the moment he sees Cam he can't fight his attraction.
This is a beautiful romance with a few secrets revealed a little angst and lots of emotion. I really am enjoying this series.
I listened on audio and the narrator just doesn't do it for me. his voices for the characters are just off. His voice for Cam I envisioned more for Jason and the one for Jason more Cam and it's basically the same two voices for all characters. The pacing is like a choppy read. But there are some actions and emotions that are quite good and I think in time the narrator may improve.

Disappointing

Any additional comments?

I was really disappointed in the characters in this book, both Cam and Jason. I was really looking forward to Jason's story also because he was such a rock to Sean with his relationship issues but he fell really short for me.
My problem with Jason was: 1) why would you go after a team mates friend when you knew he had feelings for
this particular person
2) You were more upset with not having someone to cook you breakfast
rather than Cam not being there in the first place.
3) totally ignoring Cam when the whole team was around

Cam was: 1) being a total CRAP friend to Drew/totally disregarding any of his feelings or just talking to him while he was sober plus not being there as a friend/person should be!
2) saying one thing and meaning another, how messed up is that?!?!!
3) you piss all over someone (Jason) when they are sticking up for you even though they may be outing themselves

Just too many things annoyed me with the one, good thing I read the 3rd book first otherwise I would have never read any more after this book. Sorry to say this one wasn't what I expected it to be. :-( Not even sure if I should go on from here reading the series. ( I did enjoy book 1 and 3 though
