About this listen

The Arizona Vengeance is killing it on the ice. But one player can’t seem to keep his eye on the puck - all thanks to the woman he just married to save her life.

“Find your next hockey hero in Sawyer Bennett’s Arizona Vengeance series.” (New York Times best-selling author Jill Shalvis)

My name is Dax Monahan, and hockey is my passion. And if you want to succeed in this sport you have to bust your ass 24/7. I’ve never had a hard time focusing on my career, but when my past comes knocking, no amount of training can prepare me for what lies on the other side of the door.

Regan Miles was always like a sister to me. When a shared tragedy brings us face to face after several years, I’m shocked to see just how much she’s changed. Gone is the shy, awkward little girl that always used to chase me and her brother around. Instead, I’m faced with a gorgeous woman who makes it damn hard to concentrate on anything but her.

Turns out, she’s in trouble, and the only way out is to get married.

I surprise myself when I tell her to marry me. Order her, actually. And, most shocking of all, she doesn’t even hesitate before saying yes.

So it’s settled. We’re getting hitched, and she’s moving to Arizona with me. All platonic, of course.

The catch?

I never knew I’d fall so hard for my best friend’s little sister.

Great addition to the series!

Dax is a wonderful combination of two of my favorite themes- sports romance and the marriage of convenience. Dax marries the sister of his late best friend because she needs to have medical insurance to pay for treatment of her rare disease. Regan is opposed to the idea at first but eventually agrees and moves to Phoenix to live with Dax. Both of them are denying the significant spark of attraction between them and telling their friends that it's just pretend.
We all know how this is going to turn out, it's just how the author takes us on the trip that makes the book enjoyable. The interactions between Dax and his teammates about love and marriage are perfect. Regan's dilemma in dealing with the problems of having a so-called "orphan disease" is true to life. The hint of something between Dax's sister Willow and team owner Dominik is intriguing. Finally, the chemistry between Dax and Regan is HOT!
I read the book and then listened to the audio version which was very well done. Aiden Snow and Virginia Rose do an amazing job narrating. Both add a lot of inflection to their reading and by changing tones make it very clear who the different characters are. I enjoyed reading the book and the audio version just enhanced that enjoyment.

A must listen in this fantastic series!

I really enjoyed this friends to lovers/best friend’s brother storyline. The beginning of Dax and Reagan’s relationship might not be conventional, yet sparks fly from the get go. While navigating through their situation they learn what started innocently turns into something amazing. Aiden Snow and Virginia Rose’s performance in this audiobook elevated this story to another level, bringing life to the characters. I absolutely love this Arizona Vengeance Series and can’t wait for Tacker’s book. I highly recommend this audiobook.

Loved this Fun, Emotional, & Passionate Romance!

I was so excited to read more about Dax after his heartbreaking news in the last book, Legend. This story picks up months after the senseless death of his best friend Lance, in a random mugging. He learns more shocking news about Lance's younger sister, Regan, and feels compelled to take care of her. Dax is a take action kind of guy and decides the best way to save her life is for them to secretly get married. Regan is a strong woman and is determined to be independent. She and Dax have always been close friends, but they never imaged it would grow into so much more. They both struggle with the fear, guilt, an passion of their new reality and how to move forward. I really loved Dax and Regan, and the way they worked thru their relationship with respect, patience, and love. They were both strong, thoughtful, and fun and their chemistry was palpable. We also get to know more about Tacker, Dominik, and Dax's sister, Willow, as well as seeing more of past characters we have grown to care about. I especially loved the scenes with Willow, she was so entertaining as she helped Regan come out of her shell and found ways to drive both Dax and Dom crazy for totally different reasons! I can't wait to read more about her. Another thing that I love, is how this series includes many of these swoony hockey players, weaving in their story at the same time. Each story gives us a new perspective on events from past books while pulling us in deeper to this intriguing team and the women who challenge and love them. All this was performed flawlessly by narrators, Aiden Snow, and Virginia Rose. They expertly brought these characters to life, making Dax, and Regan feel so real and honest. I was lost to their story telling, as they immersing me in this world and made me laugh, fret, and sigh from beginning to end. This is a fun, emotional, sexy and passionate story and I can't wait for Tacker's story next!

Awesome Story & Narration🎧Loving & Heartfelt!

Sawyer Bennett does it again, she delivers another amazing novel in her Arizona Vengeance series. I am loving this series and the wonderful characters and their storylines. It is great to see another player fall hard for a woman. This is Dax Monahan and Regan Miles’ story, the two have known each other for years. Dax was best friends with her older brother Lance. Lance is murdered and Dax goes to see her, she tells him everything Lance did for her. Then Dax takes it upon himself to do the same, he will take care of her including marrying to save her life. Marriage in name only was the plan but he soon finds out Regan is not the little girl he remembers and that plan soon goes out the window. I loved how everything plays out in this book, there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some heartfelt moments and the start of a great romance. It is also great to catch up with other members of the team. Sawyer Bennett, thank you for another awesome story and for bringing awareness to PNH.

Aiden Snow and Virginia Rose are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They did an amazing job portraying the characters and bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured the characters emotions and projected into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank your for this great listen🎧

Highly emotional

This story hits close to home for me. Although I do not have PNH, I do have a chronic disease that could ultimately kill me if not for high cost treatment. So I get how Regan feels. I get she wants to be normal, be treated normal, have a normal life. But I also get Dax. I get he's worried about her, making sure she's ok and doesn't need anything, and afraid to touch her after her crisis. I so get all of this and I think Ms Bennett portrays it very well. My only disappointment was not seeing Regan have a bad emotional day. She had a bad physical day, but there are also bad emotional days.

I love the relationship Dax has with his sister Willow, but I also love seeing Willow and Regan together. Though not by birth, they truly are sisters. They had fun together and got in trouble together, and definitely tried Dax's patience. Willow helps break Regan out of her shell and be more outgoing and fun.

Aiden Snow and Virginia Rose did a fantastic job with these characters. A little gruff and yet so caring you hear how much Dax cares for Regan. Ms Rose brings two completely different characters to life and you see the fun loving and carefree Willow start to rub off on Regan during their interactions. Then you see the more conservative, buttoned-up Regan when dealing with finding a job, dealing with the insurance company and getting married.

Definitely a great listen. No tears, but for sure some laughs.

Dax “Not a Neanderthal” Monahan

Dax “Not a Neanderthal” Monahan is the type of hero I think we all want. An all-star on the ice rink and a gooey hearted man unsure of himself under it all. And how can you not love all of Dax’s family as well!

Regan was a lot kinder and forgiving than most would have been. There were a couple of points especially at the end where I think a few women would have made Dax work a bit harder at being “not a neanderthal.” I guess that is part of the reason that I loved Regan, she was so sweet and upfront to everyone. She didn’t waste time on game playing.

While there were some things that ran concurrent with other stories, I didn’t feel that I had missed anything by not listening to those first. I might have a slight insight on those stories, but nothing that is going make me not want to listen.

The narrators were totally fabulous, Aiden Snow and Virginia Rose, as they rocked it when bringing the characters to life. Both of them lulled the listener into thinking they were really there with the inner monologues and the conversations.

And double kudos to the author for using this book as a platform to bring awareness to Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) disease. I have high praise for a book that can be enjoyable and still bring knowledge and awareness to people.

Narrators were perfection

Hockey has always been the only thing Dax concentrates on. When his best friend Lance dies Lance's sister Regan is left without the one person who knows her secret but also is her only source of support. Once Dax learns of her illness he steps up and marries her in order to keep her insured. But can the two keep the relationship platonic? Or will the sparks that fly move them from a marriage of convenience to a marriage worth fighting for. With beautifully written characters that have to hit rock bottom before they can fly and a storyline that had me hooked from the opening dialogue this was a great read. I now need to go back and read the rest of the series. The narrators made this so enjoyable to listen to.

Great series!

I was able to read this book and then enjoy the audio afterwards. This narration added to much to the story. I loved hearing Dax and Regan in the story instead of just reading the words. The narrators did such a great job conveying their emotions and their characters. It was a great way to enjoy this story. I need to listen to the rest of the series! Loved it!

Awesome

Dax and Reagan went into a marriage of convenience to help Reagan. They've always know each other as friends but that all changes when he begans to see her differently. Regardless of what brought them together that quickly changed in to something much more. I love hockey stories.
