Luke Rayne DeSeville gew up in Badass on the Baxter compound. A retired SEAL, a reader, with some healing. A protector and Commander for the Badass FBI training center.
Luke Rayne is sent out with Zeus to bring in a woman going by the name Ember Faye, a former CIA asset, who has been trying to reach Brecken Graywolf.
Ember Fae, Maiyum Whitewater, is a Navajo reader with visions. She escaped her CIA handlers and visions were driving her to make contact with the people that can help. She is seriously injured. She is Luke Rayne's ol lady. Something they both acknowledge and accepts with little fuss. Zeus becomes her best friend. M was one of the hidden. Like many of the ol ladies she is a target and is under heavy security. Luke Rayne's mom, becomes a guide, friend and mother to her. His dad a father and protector. His brother, Josh, has some things to work through, but becomes a big brother to her.
M knows stories and is charged with documenting them.
Great story. The virtual voice has come a long way. Love this series and hope to see the rest of this series make it to audible, as well as the related series.
