About this listen

She was hiding from her past....

When a local woman goes missing and Sheriff Blake Jenkins delivers her blood sample to DNA expert Emory Steele for analysis, Blake discovers Emory is a dead ringer for the missing woman. Blake’s gut says the woman is related to Emory. But Emory rejects the notion, requiring a DNA test before she’ll concede that she does indeed have a twin sister she never knew about.

Now she’ll do anything to see it come to light.

Emory joins Blake in a search for her missing sister, but when an attempt is made to abduct Emory as well, they begin to think the abduction is related to Emory’s birth parents. Blake vows to keep her under his watch until they discover what this maniac is looking for and bring him to justice. But Emory balks at him wanting to keep her under constant surveillance, as she’s struggling to come to grips with a former brutal attack, and she wants nothing to do with a man who might want to get close to her. When it becomes clear that Blake is the only one who can keep her safe, will she let him get close enough to do so?

Heartbreaking and lovely story of a family meant to be together. Love a happy ending even with a tragic beginning.

Eventual happiness

I loved the suspense! It was good to read a clean mystery with Christian characters.

Suspenseful

Loved this first book of the series that sort of continues/links with the wonderful Cold Harbor series. can't wait to start the next audio book & get to know more characters.

This story was enjoyable and the storyline itself was unique and creative I thought, which I appreciate and always catches my interests quicker than the typical tons of overdone re-runs! 😉 The characters were relatable and like able! There were just a few areas that were a tad too sticky sweet for my taste and in my opinion for reality, but then again, it is fiction and for fun! 😆 All in all, I’m looking forward to one of her next books, and the narrator did a decent job! I don’t have any specific issues with her either way! So, on to the next book! 😄😁😆🌻

Creative Storyline!

It was a good action story,
but the end was a littl
e syrupy.

Hard to put down

So many unexpected twists and turns. Innocents, fear and all the emotions. Murder, evil and hopelessness. in all this love finds a way.

The story is pretty good, but it’s rather similar to some of her Blackwell books.

Decent story but her books are all similar

The story line was very good but the constant melodrama and angst was almost too much to bear. I understand the story called for emotional reactions but I thought this was over the top. I did not mind the Christian references as they seemed appropriate for a Christian to feel.

Also the book was too long with little progress in locating the abducted woman - it seemed to move forward very slowly, mostly focusing on the emotional state of the main characters.
