About this listen

A comatose man is given a fatal dose of insulin in the emergency room, even though he isn't diabetic. An ulcer patient dies of shock after receiving a transfusion of the wrong blood type. A recovering heart patient receives a double dose of medication and suffers a fatal heart attack.

Brain surgeon Dr. Tyler Matthews suspects that something is seriously wrong with the hospital's new "Med-InDx" computerized medical record system. But he doesn't suspect that there's something murderously wrong with it.

As Matthews begins to peel back the layers of deception that cover the deadly errors, he crosses powerful corporate interests who aren't about to let their multi-billion dollar medical record profits evaporate. Now a target, Matthews finds himself trapped in a maze of deadly conspiracy, with his career, his marriage, and his very life on the line.

Once again, Wyler blends his unparalleled expertise as a world class surgeon with his uncanny knack for suspense to create a true "best-of-breed" medical thriller. Deadly Errors is a lightning-quick action procedural that is destined to win new fans to the medical thriller genre.

Editorial reviews

When medical staff keeps accidentally murdering patients, Dr. Tyler Matthews realizes something is dangerously awry at the hospital. Thus begins this wild maze of a mystery. A neurosurgeon, author Allen Wyler knows just what he's doing with this fast-paced medical thriller. Meanwhile, A. T. Chandler's performance is spot-on. He uses his pacing like a doctor uses his scalpel: exactingly and effectively. He capitalizes on Wyler's built-in moments of suspense, making this audiobook a heightened version of an already heart-pounding novel.

Ok but the story was a little dissapointing..

What did you like best about Deadly Errors? What did you like least?

The narrator is what I liked best.. the story is what I liked least. The explanation of what the book is about is a little misleading in my opinion. It concentrates more on the legalities of something like this happening, rather than the story line itself.

Would you recommend Deadly Errors to your friends? Why or why not?

No, wouldn't recommend Deadly Errors to friends because I didn't particularly enjoy it. Though I did manage to finish it, it wasn't the type of book that makes you want to keep listening to it.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I thought the performance of the book was poor and was a little disappointing with the narrator. Chandler just seems to drone on and on in a lot of the parts which made one lose interest. Great book to fall asleep too!

Was Deadly Errors worth the listening time?

Yes, but mostly for the fact that I found it easy to fall asleep while listening to it. Thank gawd for book marks in my Garmin GPS that I use to listen to my audio books these days. I'd set a bookmark 10 minutes or so after I started listening in bed and was asleep in about another 10 minutes of listening to it :)

Any additional comments?

Your mileage may differ, but for me, the title and description of the book is misleading and not what I expected at all.
