Publisher's summary

Larry Burkett said, "The trend today is to seek the path of least resistance, and when the going gets difficult, give up." That is a good description of a lazy person: the one who seeks the path of least resistance and who gives up when things get difficult.

Most of the world is lazy. Too many believers are idle. Few attain their God-given potential. The kingdom suffers because of the too many spectators who are said to be soldiers in the army of the Lord. The loss to God, to the kingdom of God, and to the lazy person that is caused by the sin of laziness is beyond measure. Must things continue that way? I do not think so.

Laziness is a deadly sin. The one who commits this sin can be delivered. That is what this book is about. May the Lord bless you as you listen to it! Amen.

*** convicted NOT condemned ***

this book, is painfully needed in the body of our Messiah! I didn't want to purchase it at first because I already realized that I am lazy! However, I also have no desire to remain lazy. I appreciate that I was convicted unto repentance and not condemned into running and hiding from the grace of God.

Great book

Z.T. Fomum was great man of GOD with very deep spiritual insights. This audio book was convicting & deeply introspective. Though don’t agree fully on some of things he said, though Scripture says the enemy finds work for idle hands, humans need rest at least 8 hours of rest… also going to heaven is not based on the merit of work we did on earth. YESHUA dod all the works, that’s why HE said, “It’s (Telestai) finished!” Granted, it doesn’t mean we should continue sinning & intentionally being lazy, we must play our part as we’re led by the SPIRIT.

Let’s all use discernment & remain in the Secret Place of the Most High.

Worth the listen

I got this ARC via audiobook boom. This is my own review. This book should inspire all Christians to get away from laziness. The scriptures quoted will help you understand that we should we work hard for the things that need to be done to expand the kingdom of God. The narrator was great and the points given were very appropriate. the lazy are trying to overthrow God. Are you one of them?

Great book! Very convicting! Could use a bit more emphasis on the power of grace though

This book is really convicting and brought to light many struggles in laziness I did not even realize I had. I would highly recommend it for any mature Christian!
My only concern was that I feel it over emphasizes our responsibility and choices a bit at the end, while under emphasizing the changing power of God's grace in our lives and how God ultimately delivers us from this sin, not our own efforts.
However, still a great book! I'm going to listen to it again in order to better identify where I personally struggle with laziness.

Very practical and convicting

From binge watching Netflix to checking Facebook a hundred times a day it is very easy to be distracted from what you need to be doing. Zacharias Fomum is convicting in showing that we are meant to be productive and not to be lazy. I found this book helpful in showing how easy it is to give in to laziness and how to overcome it. However with that said I don't believe in all of his conclusions at the end as it is God's grace to people that allows them to be saved not the works of being productive people. Be discerning of what you hear and compare it to scripture is my advice.

AVOID

Worst “Christian “ book ever!! Many gross misunderstandings/interruptions of Scripture. Highly “works” oriented with no understanding of physical or mental health. Tone of the book is highly judgmental, arrogant and lacking in grace. Perhaps the author has a personal issue with a lazy person in his life?? The highly dramatic reading is ridiculous. Deleted from my device!!

Makes you think...however...

Has Deliverance from the Sin of Laziness turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. The narration was very good.

Any additional comments?

I must confess that this book made me feel convicted, however, is not biblically accurate, especially when it infers that someone who is lazy cannot go to heaven. According to the Bible anybody who receives the sacrifice Jesus did on the cross is saved. Yes, we need to keep trying to obey the Lord, and do the best we can every day while we are alive, because we love Him and are grateful to Him, but people struggle with many things, nobody can achieve the perfection needed to be saved. The Bible also says that it is by grace that we are saved, not of works, so that no one can boast. So it’s not Jesus’ sacrifice plus my good works that saves me; Jesus’sacrifice is more than enough!:) Thank you Jesus!

Also, the author says that sleeping 3 hours is enough - for who? Ask a doctor!

Though the book is somehow very judgmental, it has several good points - but I consider it like a bag that contains both good and counterfeit money, what do you do with it? You take what is good and throw out the bad.

The narration was great.
