What does Michael A. Smith bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I read the book in college, and Mr. Smith's voice makes the story flow. One can listen to the story without any distraction.Enchanting

What disappointed you about Demian?
Wow. I hated the way this was read. I found it listenable! I guess I'll read the book. What didn’t you like about Michael A. Smith’s performance?
It was monotonous and depressing. To me, it sounded like someone being forced to read out loud in junior high school.Any additional comments?
Please, someone else record this book! The reading was so bad I couldn't listen

What did you like best about Demian? What did you like least?
I never write a bad review. But this masterpiece of a book is ruined here. Worst narration I've ever encountered, and the translation is also inferior. What was one of the most memorable moments of Demian?
'Demian' is a beautiful and powerful book, breaching spiritual and existential complexities that are still confounding and taboo in our current culture. It's profound, mystical, erotic and communicates highly esoteric topics expertly and poetically. How could the performance have been better?
The narrator mispronounces words that any school child would know, and speaks for the characters in absurd affectations of voice. His inflection is monotone and unintelligent. Not suitable for such an important book.Read the book, skip this audio
