About this listen

The Romanian and Serbian Canis lupus rest in an uneasy peace. One of their own, Sally Miklos, the young and powerful gypsy healer, aids Perizada in her quest to defeat Volcan, a long-forgotten nightmare returned to our world. These two packs watch as their brothers across the world, wolves from Spain, Ireland, and America, join their own forces in the battle against the evil dark fae. At the same time, the packs hope against hope that their presence might reveal a mate bond between a pack member and one of the five recently discovered gypsy healers.

While Jacque and Jen miss Sally, their longtime best friend, they have bided their time dealing with their own domestic issues. Jacque and Fane are anticipating the birth of their first child and Jen and Decebel face the challenges of caring for an infant. Both girls are eagerly awaiting Sally's return, and have Perizada's word that she will be back in time for the birth of Jacque's baby.

Vasile and Alina, the Alpha pair of the Romanian pack, are enjoying this time of peace. But Vasile did not become the most powerful Alpha in centuries by being a fool. He has lived long enough to know that there is always another battle on the horizon.

Great story and hilarious characters. Jen and peri are the best characters. Definitely a great read!

Love this series

I love the story, very engaging. However the narrator is different than the rest of the series and, to me,almost all of the characters sound the same. I hate the accent she uses, it sounds too cheesy. Like an old cheesy vampire movie.

Love the story-Hate the new narrator

By changing the narrator, it’s very difficult to relax and continue the Grey wolves series. Pronunciation of names is so different it left me wondering who was talking. I miss the old Jen!

Why change the narrator at book 8.5?

The first 8 books had a wonderful narrator, after all of these, I’d fallen in love with the books. This is cringe worthy! The new narrator butchers the names, butchered the “accents” and made it hard to even finish the book 🥺

Awful narrator!

No, just No, I'll be quite honest, I couldn't get past 30 minutes. 30 minutes was all I could listen to this woman butcher this series. After eight books. This is ridiculous, Abby Craden was a fabulous narrator for these books. I do not know why she is not the narrator for the next three that I know of. However, you would think that if you're going to get a new narrator. At least they would familiarize themselves with the way the characters were read for the last eight books honestly in the 30 to 45 minutes. I listen to this woman Read this book. I couldn't tell who was speaking, she didn't bother to change the tone of her voice hardly at all. And as far as I'm concerned. A lot of the characters all sounded male. At least in some spots. Now I realize that realistically not every narrator's going to sound the same but if you're going to pick up a series this far in the least you could do is attempt to approximate the differences so that the listeners do not become confused. She did not at all attempt this when it come to characters like the Fae. Perry she mispronounced the names the whole attitude of most of the characters was way off. Like I said, I understand that not every narrator is going to read the same. But this far into a series you can at least familiarize yourself with some of it so that it is not as difficult for dedicated listeners. For the first time in forever because I'm usually very picky about the sort of thing I absolute refused to buy the next books in the series with credits or money, especially money. I was actually contemplating adding extra credits to my audible account so I could get the next books in the series early on audible, but I will not be doing that. I would rather find the Kindle version and have the computer or the Kindle or myself read them to me so that I can substitute in my mind. Abby Craden's version of the characters then listen to this woman continue to read them. In fact, I will be returning "Den Of Sorrows" so that I can get my credit back and put it towards one of my series where I can actually enjoy the narration. This is completely and totally awful. I'm usually quite picky about having every book in a series on audible or on Kindle or on both but at this point with this narrator know because I literally cannot force myself to listen to this woman read the series. The way she reads it. I tried this is the first time that in the middle of a series I'm just like no. It's Kindle time I actually looked ahead because I was going to get the books later in the series that are available on Kindle. The other two that are available on Kindle after Den of sorrows, and I see that this new narrator is narrating them both. I will not be getting them I would rather take the time to read them on Kindle or have the text-to-speech read to me while I'm busy because then I can excuse the computerized voice for not pronouncing certain things right and correct them in my head because whenever you use the text-to-speech function. You have to expect a certain amount of mispronunciation when it comes to fantasy fiction which is one of the reasons that I love audible. However, as far as I'm concerned. Listening to this woman read this book after the other eight books read by Abby Craden. I find her worse than listening to the text-to-speech function. Also, for the record, I must say that had she read the first eight books I probably would not own them. Because I wouldn't have been able to set through the way she reads them. I think you're doing a total disservice to the series by not finding a better suited narrator if it cannot be Abby Craden then find find someone who is willing to at least take a look at the other books previous and can better approximate the attitudes and the voice changes because right now it's just ridiculous for a switchover this far into the series.

I have every book Quinn Loftis has published and I love each one. The storyline just keeps getting better however the reader or narrator for this book was atrocious! After listening to 8 books in a row by the other reader, I felt this book was slaughtered! Names were mispronounced and her voice inflections changed personalities of the characters. My wonderful Romanian wolves sounded like Italian thugs! I am very disappointed in my listening experience.

Love the story but...
