About this listen

The Romanian and Serbian Canis lupus rest in an uneasy peace. One of their own, Sally Miklos, the young and powerful gypsy healer, aids Perizada in her quest to defeat Volcan, a long-forgotten nightmare returned to our world. These two packs watch as their brothers across the world, wolves from Spain, Ireland, and America, join their own forces in the battle against the evil dark fae. At the same time, the packs hope against hope that their presence might reveal a mate bond between a pack member and one of the five recently discovered gypsy healers.

While Jacque and Jen miss Sally, their longtime best friend, they have bided their time dealing with their own domestic issues. Jacque and Fane are anticipating the birth of their first child and Jen and Decebel face the challenges of caring for an infant. Both girls are eagerly awaiting Sally's return, and have Perizada's word that she will be back in time for the birth of Jacque's baby.

Vasile and Alina, the Alpha pair of the Romanian pack, are enjoying this time of peace. But Vasile did not become the most powerful Alpha in centuries by being a fool. He has lived long enough to know that there is always another battle on the horizon.

Love the story-Hate the new narrator

I love the story, very engaging. However the narrator is different than the rest of the series and, to me,almost all of the characters sound the same. I hate the accent she uses, it sounds too cheesy. Like an old cheesy vampire movie.

Love the story but...

I have every book Quinn Loftis has published and I love each one. The storyline just keeps getting better however the reader or narrator for this book was atrocious! After listening to 8 books in a row by the other reader, I felt this book was slaughtered! Names were mispronounced and her voice inflections changed personalities of the characters. My wonderful Romanian wolves sounded like Italian thugs! I am very disappointed in my listening experience.

Good story not so good narrator

Wasn’t pleased with the Narrater. I disliked the way she threw me off with the way she said Vasilla name and the prior narrator had a better memory of the characters voices

Great series but not a fan of this narrator

I listened to the first book and quickly became hooked. I am a little disappointed with the change of narrator so late in the series. She’s actually not a bad narrator but she speaks the characters in a very different tone of voice than the previous one. But the thing that is bugging me the most is that she calls the characters by different names or pronounces them differently. For example, she calls the fairy Perizada more frequently by her nickname Peri than by her full name. I really like the name Perizada and it was used so much more in all of the other books so it’s been bugging me. More than that however, is that Vasila, is being called Vasil. My brain has a hard time connecting the two together. And Vasil sounds weak and he is definitely not a weak character. Other than that however, I still really enjoyed the story line. I did try to find out if there was a book out that covered Perizada’s love story (even a novella) and it doesn’t look like there is. Maybe it was converted by 7.5 even though it wasn’t talked about in the description. I’ll have to upload the ebook version since there isn’t an audio version of 7.5 available.

I absolutely love these books

Why did the narrator switch?! This new one is awful!! She can't even pronounce the Alpha's name right. She said Vasil not Vasilla!!! Her voice is awful and her vocal portrayal of the characters is horrendous!! Rerecord them with the original narrator Abby!!!
