Als zwei weitere Leichen entdeckt werden, gerät Stave zunehmend unter Druck. In einer dramatischen Nacht im Hafen versucht er gemeinsam mit dem britischen Lieutenant MacDonald, den Mörder zu fassen.

"Der Schieber" ist - nach "Der Trümmermörder" (2011) - der zweite Roman Cay Rademachers um Oberinspektor Frank Stave.
