About this listen

You are about to understand how you can leverage the power of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to live in the moment, regulate your emotions, improve relationships with others, and cope in a healthy way with stress, irrespective of the circumstances you are faced with!

Originally developed as a remedy for people with borderline personality disorders (BPD), dialectical behavior therapy has been proven to be an effective solution for all manner of destructive behaviors, including but not limited to substance abuse, eating disorders, and many other mental health problems.

What exactly is DBT? How does it work? How can it help change your life? Are there any scientific studies to back up its effectiveness? What are its goals? And how can you actually use it to live in the moment, regulate your emotions, improve your relationships with others and cope healthy with stress?

This audiobook seeks to answer all questions from A to Z about DBT to ensure that at the end of it, you have an above-average understanding of this type of cognitive behavioral therapy and are able to use it to make your life better.

Imagine a life without all the stresses, the drama, the frustration, the anger, disappointments, and many other negative emotions that come as a result of your experiences. Think of how much more fulfilling life would be when you are able to tame your seemingly uncontrollable emotions and not have emotional outbursts or meltdowns.

Life would be great, right?

You can have that if you leverage the power of DBT.

This audiobook will show you exactly how to go about it in a step-by-step, look-over-my-shoulder approach that is free from unnecessary jargon!

More precisely, the audiobook will teach you:

  • What is the theory and research about DBT
  • How DBT differs from other cognitive behavioral therapy techniques
  • How there is a unique connection between mindfulness and emotion regulation
  • How you can develop and nurture powerful skills that will help you to focus on the present moment to reduce worry, stress, PTSD, and more
  • How to effectively reduce impulsive behavior by using the power of DBT
  • How to reduce your sense of connection to your true self while making the most use of DBT
  • How to deal with extreme stress or difficulty, skyrocket your distress tolerance like a Navy SEAL, and master emotion regulation like a CIA operative
  • How to enhance your interpersonal effectiveness by leveraging the power of DBT
  • And much more!

Everything is laid out in a beginner-friendly structure and easy-to-follow language so that at the end of the audiobook, you don’t feel confused about what to do next. You will know exactly what to do and when, even if this is your first encounter with the term DBT.

Incomprehensible

The performance may have impacted the content. It was painful to listen and understand what was being stated. Between the mispronunciations, short choppy statements, and lack of coherence an hour into the book was more time than I could waste and I am a psychologist.
