About this listen

Life is tricky enough when you’re a teenager and have to deal with all the problems that go with it; friendship issues, boy crushes, bullies, bossy parents, too much homework and the odd pimple or two. But for 12 year old Lily, it’s completely chaotic and out of control.
Lily is not your average twelve year old girl with strawberry blonde plaits, cheeky freckles and a cute dimple in her chin. She’s about to turn 13, and she’s also a witch; a witch who has been sent to Earth on a very important mission. Lily must help rid the world of bullies and save people from disasters and catastrophes.
And that’s not an easy job to do, especially when you’re navigating all those other teenagie problems. And particularly when one of the sacred rules is that you are not allowed to have a crush on anybody. That's pretty tricky for any teenager.

‘Diary of a Wickedly Cool Witch’ contains a wonderful concoction of magical mystery, a squeeze of fantasy, a splash of realism and a huge dash of crazy humor, with a little bit of romance stirred in. It will capture young and old from start to finish, making them laugh and cry as they follow Lily’s plight to save people from all sorts of calamity, entrancing its audience from start to finish.
But be warned. You will laugh, you will cry, and it will get a little messy at times, with hilarious outcomes. But there are lots of lovely little life lessons scattered throughout, and beautiful messages for girls and boys about being true to themselves, and kind to each other.
Diary of a Wickedly Cool Witch touches on the notion of bullying, self-image, standing up for yourself, caring for your friends and being an individual, in a light hearted, humorous way.
This boxed set contains the first four books where Lily tries to rid the school of bullies, attempts to make the cheerleading team and learn how to hold a boys hand without making a dork of herself, all in one week.
In book two she attends a Halloween party where the school bullies try to steal her boy ‘friend’ and her crush, before saving the school from being blown up at a Christmas party.
In book three she saves the day yet again at a cheerleading camp, and then in book 4, poor old Lily has her own catastrophe when she is sent back to witch school because she has broken the biggest sacred rule of the coven : YOU MUST NOT HAVE a crush on anyone!!
Is this the end of Lily’s time on Earth as a good witch? Will she be sent to the evil giant to spend her next life there? You will have to get Book 5 WITCHES RULE to see if she comes back to Earth, and returns to all her friends and family that she, and everyone has grown to love, or whether she is sent somewhere else in the universe.

REVIEWS FROM READERS
If you have teenage daughters or granddaughters, this is the book to grab them. Readers get to meet Lily who looks twelve, but is actually a 286 year old witch. Lily has a special purpose and ability, but a hard time trying to do what she is supposed to. In this book she is trying to help Kaitlyn and finding out a lot about how others act. The book is silly, fun and also takes younger readers into a great story.

The book was so good, I was obsessed with it!

This was a very funny and entertaining book that shows bullying can also backfire. It was great to see the tormentors get their just desserts

Best book in the world. I do not think I have ever read a better book as I am proud to say this book is not just amazing but it's

I thought this might be only for girls aged 12 but as a young adult I loved it and it was so funny with lots of toilet humour I would recommend it for anyone who can just let go and enjoy a fun story.
