We learned what it was like to learn what going without phones and tablets and playstations. SPOILERS AHEAD Rowley and Greg do stuff that does not turn out that good as video games like defeating end bosses and Greg gets taught all this stuff and it does not work out.

I was listening to this with my son, and Greg is a RUDE kid. I have read all the other books, and Greg is always simping on at least one girl every book. He is a manipulative jerk, overwhelmed by jealousy. Like when he breaks his best friends arm, and uses it just to get attention.

It’s not any better with manny either. He is a literal sociopath. I mean, he will do anything just to get his way, even throwing his own family under the bus. Every time manny does something, in any of the books that is remotely devious, he blames it on either one of his imaginary friends or the fact that he is, “only three”.

Go back and read every book in the series (or listen) and you will realize that Rodrick, is the only normal one. I don’t have enough time for three more paragraphs, but basically Susan is a Karen, and will do anything for manny. Frank is a dead beat, who wants nothing to do with his kids. And Rodrick is the only normal one. But overall I love this book series.

Overall very good children’s literature.
