Friedrich Rückert (1788-1866) war ein deutscher Dichter und Übersetzer. Er gründete die deutsche Orientalistik. Seine Gedichte wurden u.a. von Gustav Mahler, Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann und Johannes Brahms vertont.
