About this listen
Was erwartete sie: Freiheit?
©2019 Piper Verlag GmbH, München (P)2019 Hörbuch Hamburg HHV GmbH, HamburgKnowing that, is much easier for me to finish out the entire series which I feel like does the Handmaids ‘s tale plenty of justice.
The Testaments is written in a way that can pick up after the handmaid‘s tale and after the Hulu series so not too many discrepancies are found between Versions. The reader, listener, and viewer in this case will have to allow for a certain amount of liberty between multiple artists.
Margaret Atwood is a treasure. It is hard to put into ample words how grateful I am to live alongside someone of that caliber; her creativity and intelligence is astounding. There’s always a little apprehension when you read a sequel of a book that you loved, because what if it doesn’t measure up? About five minutes in to this I was left with little doubt.
While I’m hoping that Atwood has left herself enough room and energy to revisit what happens between the handmaid’s tale and the testament, the testament in and of itself is absolute perfection.
Atwood does not disappoint!
