Ihr gelingt es, das Kind unversehrt auf die Welt zu bringen, doch nach dem ersten Schrei des kleinen Mädchens stürzen ohne Vorwarnung Wachmänner herein und entreißen Madlen das Neugeborene. Hat wirklich der Erzbischof den Auftrag hierzu gegeben? Madlen bleibt keine Zeit zum Nachdenken. Die Männer kommen zurück und sie realisiert, dass nicht nur das Leben des Säuglings, sondern auch das der Mutter und ihr eigenes ernsthaft in Gefahr sind.

Narrator better than story

The author tends towards melodrama and dwells on bloodshed and gruesome events. Maybe a writing coach and stern editor could improve on the final draft?
