Chad Sanders is a writer on the brink of wealth, whose world is changing fast around him. He goes from sleeping on a mattress on the floor of his Brooklyn apartment to Hollywood pitch meetings with his mentor, Spike Lee, to riding around Los Angeles with Kanye West. He lands a staff writing gig for Issa Rae’s new show, Rap Sh!t. His phone is ringing nonstop, and he can feel his burgeoning success, but can't stop checking his bank account and obsessing over how he's going to make more money without losing himself. Now that he's getting some cash, Chad stays up at night wondering what's going to happen next?

In this episodic podcast, Chad brings us along on his dizzying ride to the top, exploring everything that happens to Black people who get rich through a series of illuminating, honest, funny, and moving conversations with Black Hollywood power players like Issa Rae, Charles D. King, Soledad O'Brien, and Gabrielle Union, as well as Black entrepreneurial stars like Slutty Vegan founder Pinky Cole, NFL quarterback guru Quincy Avery, and others in a quest to understand the unique, fraught, and fascinating relationship that Black people have with money. To get to the real and raw truths around being rich while Black, Chad takes us into the clubs, black cars, studio lots, bedrooms, and therapy sessions inhabited by Black super-earners.

Chad's trying to answer the most urgent questions in his life: What's money going to do for him? What's money going to do to him?

We All Think it, Chad Did it

As a young Black writer and independent publisher, I have asked myself, how did those that came before me achieve success? It is a massive undertaking to create while Black AND financially survive. Chad provided real people with real answers to that question.

So Very Good! Incredible Series.

I haven't been this impressed with a podcast series in a long time. So many gems were dropped and Chad asks excellent questions. I've listened to each episode at least twice because they are so good. Chad is doing the Lord's work with this one!!!

I loved this!!

First off this was one of the easiest podcasts I’ve ever listened to. The mix of interviews with storytelling kept me engaged the whole time. Listening to these successful black professionals share their experiences and what they learned felt like I was listening to conversations I almost shouldn’t be privy too. I really enjoyed this!

Great content!

During a long drive to Savannah, I was looking for something energizing and inspiring - thank goodness I stumbled upon this fantastic audible series! Chad's stories, from corporate to entrepreneur, resonate with my current journey as a game studio founder still in tech. My entrepreneurial spirit is more recharged than ever. His relatable experiences and thought-provoking questions made me feel like we were old friends. Chad became my insightful road trip companion!

The insights most never get the opportunity to hear

This is golden. Stories that often are only heard by close friends, Chad is allowing us to be flies on the wall. Hearing these experiences not only will benefit those hearing the words in these interviews, but will also encourage many in the future to know that they can persevere in the midst of challenges. Thanks for bringing this content to the masses!
