Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story
Hockey coach Ashley Jaswal doesn't take nonsense from anyone … except her overbearing and superstitious family. They believe she's a good luck charm for her brother Jas, the newest Vancouver Canucks draft pick, forcing Ash to attend all his games as he rises up the NHL ranks, sacrificing her personal life (not that she has one—who decided hockey season needed to be 10 months long anyway?). Ash also clashes with Jas’s teammate, Canucks captain Devin Snyder.

Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Charming story
Part of The Lady series, this is the first installment of The Norrington Collection, and it is off to a charming start. Charlotte carries the burden of securing her family's future, and thus must marry well. She meets Anthony, a new duke who also must look after the finances of his dukedom. Charlotte becomes compromised with Anthony, a man she cannot stand. Needless to say, she gets caught with the wrong duke. Will she still be able to fulfill the obligations to her family?
A lovely start to a new collection of Lady stories! I also listened to this as an audiobook and found it very enjoyable.

Sweet Regency Romance
This was my first Daisy Landish's book, and won't be my last. This book is part of The Lady Series, and this short novella is the first story in The Norrington Collection. Charlotte and Anthony's story is sweet and heartwarming, filled with misunderstandings and miscommunication. Zane Boyer did a great job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. #StoryOrigin

Great story!
The story was easy to listen to, and made for a relaxing time. Misunderstandings, immaturity, and fear can often get in the way of establishing a good relationship. But often times they can be worked out and people can have their happy ending. The audio version was fun and easy to follow along. I could picture everything happening! I took away one star on the narrator because when the actor did the female voices, it didn’t seem real, it was a bit over exaggerated and didn’t give the heroin the dignity I felt she deserved. But other than that, it was well done and very enjoyable. I recommend it!

"Discovering The Lady" is a Strong Start to The Norrington Collection by Daisy Landish!
"Discovering The Lady" is a delightful Regency romance that skillfully balances societal pressure with heartfelt emotion. Daisy Landish crafts a compelling narrative through Lady Charlotte Norrington, whose journey of self-discovery amidst the challenges of high society makes for an engaging and relatable tale. The chemistry between Charlotte and Anthony, the Duke of Banbury, is subtly developed, adding layers of tension and intrigue to their evolving relationship.
The plot, while rooted in the familiar themes of duty versus desire, manages to feel fresh thanks to Landish's deft handling of character growth. Charlotte’s internal conflict and the societal expectations placed upon her are portrayed with sensitivity and depth, making her struggle between convenience and love resonate throughout the story.
While the story itself is captivating, the narration by Zane Boyer was a bit of a letdown, particularly when it came to the female characters. Boyer’s portrayal of Lady Charlotte felt off, lacking the nuance and grace that her character demanded. His female voices, in general, took away some of the immersion, which was a shame given the strength of the plot. That said, his performance in other aspects of the narration was commendable, especially in capturing the charm and wit of the Duke of Banbury.
Overall, "Discovering The Lady" is a charming read and a strong start to The Norrington Collection. If you're a fan of clean Regency romances with well-rounded characters and emotional depth, this one is worth picking up—perhaps with a different narrator in mind.
