About this listen

There is a contagious psychospiritual disease of the soul, a parasite of the mind, that is currently being acted out en masse on the world stage via a collective psychosis of titanic proportions. This mind-virus - which Native Americans have called "wetiko" - covertly operates through the unconscious blind spots in the human psyche, rendering people oblivious to their own madness and compelling them to act against their own best interests.

Drawing on insights from Jungian psychology, shamanism, alchemy, spiritual wisdom traditions, and personal experience, author Paul Levy shows us that hidden within the venom of wetiko is its own antidote, which once recognized can help us wake up and bring sanity back to our society.

Critic reviews

"This book brilliantly exposes how the very roots of the madness that is threatening life on earth are ultimately to be found within our own psyche. I love that Paul is taking seriously the profound implications of what it means that all of us are living in a mass, shared dream. His startlingly clear premise challenges me to reflect upon both the world and myself in radically mind-altering ways. Something important is coming through his imagination-filled musings; his visionary insight into the intrinsic genius of our species feels inspired by a truly creative, compassionate, and enlivening spirit. I always look forward to reading Paul's work; it stimulates me to greater heights of lucidity, disturbs me enough to awaken me out of my complacency, and encourages me to fly on the wings of the creative imagination. The world would be a better place if everyone read this book. His vision is a royal gift for all of us. It makes me want to sing. Bravo!"
—Sting

"Dispelling Wetiko is one of those rare, courageous books that leads us where we would prefer not to go: into the depths of our own shadow. Yet this is the most essential journey for our present time.… It is a must-read, without a doubt."
—Caroline Myss, author of Anatomy of the Spirit

"Paul Levy summons us by Wisdom's call to community, action, and our higher humanity. Truly initiatory, this book is inviting us to step through the looking glass and consciously participate in our own evolution. In exposing our psychic blindness, Levy is helping us to open our eyes and see."
—Thom Hartmann, author of The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight

"When I read Dispelling Wetiko, I was unprepared for a work of such true brilliance and depth. Paul Levy should be congratulated on writing a seminal work."
—Brad Steiger, author of Revelation: The Divine Fire

Most Intriguing Topic

What Paul Levy has to say must be heard by ALL. We will never be able to heal our wounding at any level until we see how pervasive, ancient, and damaging it is. One of the best books I have listened to in many years.

Interesting thesis, but the reader...

The reader's strident style sounds wild-eyed and hard to take seriously. The presentation was over-dramatic for me.

Must Read in these Challenging Times

Would you consider the audio edition of Dispelling Wetiko to be better than the print version?

In these strange and terrible times I have sought to understand the nature of evil as it is so apparently driving the human experience today. Breaking the Curse of Evil gave me exactly the understanding I need to survive and engage in a positive way with the forces of evil in our world today.

Which scene was your favorite?

Most personally important to me was the affirmation that art, and artistic expression, are a powerful force to sweep away the evil forces in our lives.

An eloquent yet bitter/sweet map of the cosmic web

This ruthless yet eloquent map of our cosmic connections so generously spilled into my ears as I listen to the Audible version of this amazing manifesto.....very truthful, non-apologetic, straightforward Account of the alchemical overview and responsibility that we take on by being in these bodies on this planet together is a book that so detailed of a way....Illustrates this epidemic inbalance expressing itself within our blindness as the gate keeper.
This is a profoundly Rich book with all that I have read esoterically ancient history alchemy the Bible taking all the loose ends placing them into a container in the form of this book with the pressure of your presence in reading or listening to such a book can and will have an amazing effect on your entire life Paul levy in his generosity and rich experiences of his past gives way to this amazing account with open eyes to see and share.

Interesting Book to help loosen the grips of Ego

The content of the book is great though my problem is with the choice of narrator. This narrator’s voice is just hard to listen to, or it was in my case. Since I’ve been listening to more audiobooks I have found out how important the narrator is. He or she can make or break the book.

Important information for mankind to integrate

Where does Dispelling Wetiko rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

top 5

What other book might you compare Dispelling Wetiko to and why?

Whisperings of the Dragon: Shamanic Practices to awaken your primal power. by Lujan Matus.

Have you listened to any of Keith L. O'Brien’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Good narration poor editing. Almost lost me in the first chapter due to poor edits but I am sure the narrator knows this and it will not happen again. As the book moves on there are less edits and the narration becomes fluid and exciting. Overall good job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no. too long for that. But that being said I've listened to it 3 times as the material is so well put together and brilliantly written.

Any additional comments?

Paul Levey is a new hero of mine. By openly exposing his debillitating experience as a mental patient before becoming the brilliant intellectual and author he is today,Paul has the moral authority and insight to expose the dark side of humanity as a mental virus. His understanding and insight into evil as being a non local mental virus which he identifies as Wetiko, is is the most plausable explanation and truth I've come to find on the subject. His work if integrated has the power to heal the individual and the dream world in which we live.Thank you Paul!
