About this listen

Mallory Baldwin is a survivor. A former victim of human trafficking, she's been given a second chance, yet not a night goes by that she doesn't remember being a slave to weapons dealer Dante Torres. Despite being afraid of the dark and wary of strangers, Mallory is trying to rebuild her life by turning her tragedy into redemption.

To former Navy SEAL Tennyson Walker, Mallory seems nothing like the shattered woman he rescued two years ago, and he can't help but be inspired by her strength and resilience. So when a stalker suddenly makes Mallory vulnerable once again, Tennyson steps up as her bodyguard to keep her safe.

Mallory and Tennyson's mutual attraction can't be ignored, but neither can Mallory's suspicion that Tennyson is keeping a terrible secret about her past. As the nightmare closes in, it's not only Mallory and Tennyson's love that comes under fire but their very lives as well. Will their faith sustain them? Or will the darkness win once and for all?

My first book from Christy Barritt

Distorted was my first book by Christy Barritt, it will not be my last. The pace and content of the story is very good, and I love Tennyson and Mallory. I thought I knew how it was going to go, and I was only partially right. I have already recommended this book to my family and I am excited to read more by Ms. Barritt.

Wonderful Christian book

wow!! I have not enjoyed a book for a long time. it has so many twists and turns. I wondered how it would turn out. J ust who was the bad guy. I have found a new Christian author I really like. I will be getting more of her books as I can afford them. This was a clean read. And what a story teller. Obviously I most highly recommend this book!!!!

An excellent thriller with a Christian bent. It was good to see an emphasis on human trafficking. It is a problem and everyone is at risk. The more awareness the better.

The story is told from Mallory's point of view for the most part. As she was confused much of the time, the story would almost stall at that point. The Christian influence was good to see but at times in the beginning seemed forced. Maybe could have been brought in earlier in the character development. The pacing of the mystery was good and held my attention. As evidenced by it being 4:30am as I finished

Gripping

Once again an excellent plot that kept me guessing until the end. The human trafficking sets this somewhat apart from the authors other books that I have read.

Barrit has done it again!

This book grabbed my attention by getting directly to the action with a seal team storming a home and am extraction off a girl missing for about a year. From there the action was non stop. There were heart stopping actions around every corner. Highly recommend.

So many twists and turns in this story line. It kept me guessing all the way to the end.

Very good narration and story

This story has great characters and suspense. There are a few places where the story is a bit slow, but mainly it flows well. Very good narration and a good story to listen to.

Ok

This was a decent story but falls a bit short in the former special forces/protection genre. There is a scene in which a self indulgent moron gets the drop on the H plus other security specialists. That just doesn't happen.

Distorted disappointment!

I really liked where the, big picture, storyline was going; however, I felt myself getting frustrated and annoyed at almost every turn. How could the two main characters be bright, intelligent, accomplished people and continually come to very unintelligent conclusions? Understanding the intent to have their pasts cause second guessing and doubts in themselves, their conclusions were, well, just stupid; almost insulting to the reader or listener, in my case. And sadly the performer did not improve the situation. **This is the first mediocre review I have ever done; I loved the first two books & usually really enjoy this author....just fell short this time; for me. 😢
