Critic reviews

"Mary McCarthy...and a host of others have portrayed the power and value of female friendships, but no one has done it with more grace, charm, talent, and power than ...Wells does in Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood." ( Richmond Times Dispatch)

It's very sad that it is an abridged version: the original is fantastic, but it loose interesting and emotionally triggering parts with the cuts

I never listen to abridged books and was really disappointed that I wasted my time re-reading this beloved book as abridged. Planning to exchange. Please mark this more clearly for others

This title is not labeled as abridged, though I suppose if one looks at the length they'd figure it out, It was on sale, so I didn't check. That being said, it being abridged was a blessing in disguise. The narrator, who happens to be the writer was not my cup of tea. She seemed to be trying so hard to be over the top, but it comes at the detriment of enunciation and over all tempo just plain out being able to understand what she's saying at time. Actress, or at least voice actress she is not.
