About this listen

The year is 1989. In London, safecracker Raine Creevy breaks into a house - and finds more than the family jewels.

In the Middle East, the kingdom of Sayf Udeen is being terrorised by Soviet invaders and alien monsters.

And on the Scottish border, a highly guarded facility contains an advanced alien weapon.

These are all part of the Doctor's masterplan. But masterplans can go awry....

Directed by Ken Bentley.

The performances are great, but I think the decision to include Ace (when as originally planned, she would have left in Thin Ice) stole plot threads away from new companion Raine Creevey, who should have been the focus. It also seems fairly obvious that the aliens were given more presence in this story than originally planned, further straining the plot threads. And the last episode. God! Just skip it after the sword fight!
