About this listen

Dareese "Dollar Bill" Blake is one of those bad guys that women love to hate. In an effort to escape the hood life and dabble in the good life, Dollar quickly grows from a small pup to a big dawg. After carefully critiquing the game, he chooses a concrete type of hustle that he's sure will offer him an early retirement from the workforce.

If you ask his home girl, Thomasena, she'd say it's been nothing but love for Dollar since day one. In Dollar's eyes, however, Thomasena is just one of the boys, so it's no surprise that he tends to overlook her for every other piece of tail that wags by him. When Dollar calls on Thomasena to help him in the ultimate come-up, will she be able to put her feelings of rejection on the back burner, or will Dollar get burned?

This book was deep and so real i felt everything

I felt everything that this book taught. Life is what u make it and everything that looks good is not always good for you... Always be aware of those around u but most of all always be true to yourself and dreams. You have the power to make your life worth living...

Too predictable

If 10 "big" events occurred in this novel I anticipated 9. It just wasn't very good.

just ok

This was just okay. The story missed chemistry between the characters. All proclamations of being boys or love rang hollow no matter who delivered them. There was no connection between Dollar and any of those in his life. The book is almost over and they are talking about Dollar needing to prepare for this next big "lick" and I couldn't tell you what that was until he mentioned it again. Hennessy was transparent. The only thing that was not transparent was the revelation of her personal life. Dollar was just written as a dumb character. Tommy coming thru for Dollar was an interesting twist. This story just didn't have that "oomph" factor until the last 5 minutes. ...sad

I wouldn't Recommend

This was just not a good story. Maybe if I'd read it as my first piece of Urban Fiction I would have given it another star.
