About this listen
You Work for Yourself. Now What?
So you made the brave decision to work for yourself. If you’re like most, your desire to leave behind the W-2 life was driven by the promise of the freedom to work when you want, where you want, and on what you want.
But when were you ever taught how to work for yourself?
In school you may have learned about marketing and accounting, but unless you had a great mentor, it’s not likely you were taught what to do each day when you show up for work as your own boss.
This book fixes that dilemma by showing you how to live the Done Before One lifestyle where you’ll learn to:
- Take control of the day and finish your most important work before 1:00 p.m.
- Confidently determine what you should be working on each day to hit your goals
- Align your daily actions with your bigger goals
- Overcome self-sabotage as you make positive changes in your lifestyle, and
- Enjoy your personal life without sacrificing productivity.
Whether you’re a solopreneur or a seasoned leader running multiple companies, you'll learn what no one tells you about how to succeed when you’re self-employed.
This is the book your competition hopes you never listen to, but your family and friends pray you do.

A Solid Listen Even for Frequent Topical Readers!
I had a long day of lots of windshield time last week and knocked out the entire listen (thanks, 1.5x speed! ;-)). I do a lot of reading about time management and leadership around productivity so I didn't know if I'd have much to gain but I really did enjoy Jasen's take on the topic. The addition of bonus material is a nice touch. The author's style of sharing personal reflections were particularly compelling and made the practical need for his approach very authentic.
