About this listen

Some doors are best left closed.

1918. World War I. Rennes, France. Thirteen-year-old Marcy, the executioner's overprotected daughter, desperately craves companionship and latches onto the first person she meets after her home life becomes maddening. But when Marcy visits her mysterious friend's manor and curiosity takes over, what terrible secrets will she discover, and can she be saved in time?

In The Vein of Crimson Peak, The Bloody Chamber, and The Others (and inspired by chilling historical events), Dove Keeper is a woman-centric Gothic horror story with the haunting fairy tale undercurrents of Bluebeard.

I can't listen to this narrator.

This book came highly recomended, but the narration is so lacking in expression, that it's like listening to chalk on a blackboard. Too fast. No inflection. I've heard 4 chapters and I can't go on.
