About this listen

Death is what life is all about!

It’s hot in the jungle. And with the Rat Bastards, what’s hot becomes sheer hell. Prison can slow them down. Women can make them happy. But it’s killing that keeps them going. In the jungle, every shadow, every noise can mean friend - or foe. They shoot first and ask questions never. For them, the war is always just beginning.…

Editorial reviews

Down and Dirty, by army veteran turned author Len Levinson, is the fifth installation in the Rat Bastard series. This series belongs in the niche of war fantasy fiction. The Rat Bastards don’t have moral qualms or dwell in gray areas. Full of swagger and testosterone, they thrill to combat at every opportunity. Killing legitimizes their existence. Fans of first-person-shooter video games will enjoy this foray into the realm of tropical jungle warfare. Levinson’s military experience and knowledge of war history help him create gritty yet fantastical settings for his die-hards. The Rat Bastards are anti-heroes. They go to jail, have trouble with women, and are only at home on the battlefield. Narrator Ray Porter’s masculine voice guides the listener along this jarring ride.

Ray Porter kills it like usual and these brutal and graphic stories by Len Levinson are by far some of my favorite historical war fictions.

I can't get enough of these Rat Bastards
