About this listen

The second book in the Soul trilogy. You must listen to the first book, My Soul to Keep, first.

Rhyson: She doesn't wear my ring. We never stood before a preacher. The only vows exchanged were between our bodies and souls. But she was mine, and I was hers, until I ruined it.

I have to believe that every day, every step, every breath brings me closer to making things right. To making her mine again.

Kai: I've seen promises broken. I know love makes no guarantees. But things were different for Rhys and me, until he lied, and I walked away. Only there's a chain between our hearts that I can't break. Even if I forgive him, a shadow from my past hangs over us, over this love that reaches all the way down to my soul.

Honestly, this story was just okay to me. One of my least favorites. Too much unnecessary sex. Im not sure if I'll get book 3.

Just okay

This is one of Kennedy Ryan’s best series (and I still can’t believe it was her first published). This second book breaks hearts and wrenches souls, before beautifully mending them. The dual narration is out of this world! Just overall excellence at its core.

Written With Soul!

I'm a fan and had high hopes for Kai and Rhyson after Book 1 of the Soul series. However the embarrassing dilemma that was teased at the beginning of the book took waaaaaaaawaaaaaaaay too long to be resolved..... it was drawn out all the way to the end. It was frustrating and repetitive. i wished i would have skipped over all those angsty passages spent with Kai obsessing over her fear of sharing this problem with her man, despite advice from trusted friends to do so. If she didnt feel safe to share embarrassing things that occurred before the relationship began, they will fall apart when real problems occur within it.
Hoping for redemption in Book 3 Refrain. I know Kennedy Ryan can stick this landing! I'm already encouraged by the fact that this audiobook is several hours shorter.

Angst Drawn out Way Too Long

Like this is a story of self control, love, and trust. A great story about building trust

The love story of learning to trust.

I really like that even though Rhyson was a rich talented musician, he had real genuine feelings and he did everything in his power to keep Kai in his life.

Great Story About Love and Forgiveness

The issue in this story took too long.
I like the author but this series seems stretched for no reason. The issue in this series was unnecessarily long and could have been better if they told it and then spun the rest of the story.
Disappointed

Unnecessarily stretched

If not for knowing this is a Romance and my trust in Kennedy Ryan, I would have stopped reading this somewhere in the first quarter of the story. This book stressed me out! The writing and narration are good but the over-the-top angst didn’t suit me at the time of my reading/listening.

Hard-earned HFN
