About this listen

This story is more than a love story. It follows the lives of a law enforcement officer and a Eurasian female doctor. One is a Deputy Sheriff who was left as a widowed father of two children after witnessing his first wife dying in a burning car. To adequately care for his children he needs more consistent work hours which means starting a new career as Chief of Campus Security. The other major character in this story is a brilliant Eurasian female doctor trying to adjust to life in rural New Hampshire. The story follows the challenging decisions each has to make in their lives if they are ever going to be happy. The story takes place in Keene, New Hampshire which is located in Cheshire County in the southwest corner of the state. In the entire county, there are about 70,000 people. The population size is only one thing that can present a challenge to a highly-skilled, Harvard-educated, Mayo clinic-trained doctor. Having lived and worked in Keene as a young professional, I could easily identify with both characters. New Hampshire is a beautiful state with wonderful people. However, any state that has ‘Live Free or Die” as its license plate motto tells you something about the citizens. They are strong individualists who are comfortable speaking their minds. I truly enjoyed my time in Keene. This story is a work of fiction and any resemblance to people in Keene is strictly a coincidence. I do want to thank Sgt. Mike Sekuris, Manistee county Sheriffs Deputy, for providing insight into the work of a Deputy. Mystery
