Publisher's summary
Finegan the Cleric, Toscc the Monk, Beauregard the Dwarf, and Nor'in the Elf have been chosen by the gods to fulfill a long lost prophecy; a prophecy that will lead them to join forces against the dark wizard Reign.
The bloody slaughter of his half-blood ancestors in The War of The Ancients has turned him against the pure races of men, dwarves and elves. With his reborn dragon army, he is bent on one goal... revenge. Their only hope is the One-In-White, the mysterious Oracle, and a slowly brewing Dragon revolt.
In a race against their own imminent destruction, they must unite; for though they are part of the ancient Prophecy of One, they will find their greatest strength...is in each other.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Meet Jessica Jones: retired superhero, private investigator, loner. She tried her best to be a shiny spandex crimefighter, but that life only led to unspeakable trauma. Now she avoids that world altogether and works on surviving day-to-day in Hell’s Kitchen, New York. The morning a distraught mother comes into her office, Jessica would prefer to nurse her hangover and try to forget last night’s poor choices. But something about Amber Randall’s story strikes a chord with her. Amber is adamant that something happened to her teenage twins while they were visiting their father in the UK.

Story
Three months ago, Tansy Bloom quit monster hunting. Since then, she’s been trying to live a normal life (whatever that means), but ending up single, unemployed, and living on a boat outside her godfather’s pub definitely wasn’t part of the plan. So, when Tansy’s ex-husband – fellow monster hunter Rex Barclay – turns up like a bad penny and asks for her help with his latest investigation, Tansy reluctantly agrees. At first, the job appears to be a straightforward monster hunt – following a spate of large creature sightings, Rex believes a werewolf is on the loose in Norfolk.

Brilliant bit of classical fantasy
This is a wonderful story in the true classical fantasy style. Dragons, elves, dwarves, and magic users of all kinds. The characters were fantastic, and the story was very enjoyable.

Entertaining dragon story
I wish there were a second book available in this series I would read/listen to it in a heartbeat. David Berens has created a very entertaining middle-earthesque world with dwarfs, elves, dragons, humans and gods. The action and intrigue in this story made it very difficult to put down, or press pause on my audible app. Mr G.P Barnett’s accent and narration made this a very entertaining story to listen to.
