Publisher's summary

Who reports a homeless person missing? They're already missing.

Three years ago, Brianna Matthews became a victim at the hand of powerful men and barely escaped with her life. From that moment on, she lived her life trying to pay the favor forward by working in a women's shelter for abuse victims. When her coworker and a former resident in the shelter doesn't show up for work, Brianna must find her. Enlisting the help of Homicide Detective Aaron Jeffers to go with her, little does she know they would end up walking in the underworld of Cleveland's homeless community.

They make the perfect target.

In finding Brianna's coworker seriously ill, they promise to find her friend, a homeless man, only to discover his body in an abandoned building. Aaron suspects this may be more than the natural passing of one Vietnam Vet living on the street.

The corpse is drained of blood.

Fearing Brianna might be in danger, Aaron keeps her with him as the investigation, along with their relationship, deepen. As the new Edgars Security and Investigations Group lends a hand, one of their own goes missing.

Can Aaron and Brianna find their friend before the killer claims another victim?

Horrible narration

Great story, great author. I almost quit listening several times due to the ridiculously bad narration. If I didn’t already love this author, I definitely would have quit.

story line

Each of the books in this series was suspenseful, intriguing and made me wanted more. All the stories tied well to each other and made me wish for more

Enjoyed!

Good way to spend time with the characters introduced in prior books, see others flushed out in more depth, and meet new friends. Love the series!

Drained

While I love the Edgar Family series, I had extreme difficulty getting through this audio book. The story and content were great, the problem was with the narration of Robyn Verne. Between her not being able to decide how to pronounce the name of the main character, ( sometimes it was Breeonna and other times Brianna I would have thought this would have been caught during an edit of the book) and her bordering on slurring her words, sounding almost drunk at times, it was a very difficult listen. Because I listen to audio books to relax, I will not purchase another book narrated by Ms. Verne. It is too much work.

awesome series

I really enjoy this series but I must agree with the others that the marathon narration was awful. The story is really good but listening to it was a struggle.

Horrible narrator

Love the Edgar books (especially with the original narrator). This narration was painful & like someone else already said, she read/spoke like a robot.

Too much explicit sex

I love the edgar’s family series, however the sex is too hard-core shouldn’t be rated X. The narrator was terrible. She did a man’s voice awful the other books in the series want this bad. The story was great, but the narrator and the detailed sex was awful.

Drained is right

I love the Edgars but the change in narrator was like being trapped in the dentist chair listening to the worst hold music ever. I couldn’t wait for it to end.

Fantastic Book!

This book in a series of great books! Love the way Suzanne brings back characters from previous books and the series has the same narrator. I highly recommend this book and all the others written by Suzanne!!!

excellent

I have listened to the whole series so far and each book gets better and better. I especially love how all the characters are intertwined in each book, keeping us updated on their progress and life's. I am excited for the next book in this exciting new series, which by far has become my favorite.
